All those installment points will be gone. Why do you think they just started that idea in the last 6 months? They knew they were going down and that was a way to not pay out points all at once and kick them down the road when they knew they would be BK

If it’s chapter 11 you will continue to get them as it’s marketing. If it goes 7, goodbye
No. Points have no cash value. Providing points or allowing customers to spend them would impact potential debt recovery by secured creditors. They would have to allow it, which is extremely unlikely. Sears could get permission from the court to continue doing business and marketing, perhaps extending a brief window to cash out points. But future point awards seem doomed.
I would spend any points you have & use any gift cards. You are taking a definite chance on installment points & I would not buy a p.a. either.

They are a debt, but it depends on the bankruptcy court's interpretation. Since gift cards are wiped out, and that represents real debt, my guess is they will not be honored.
