Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Just heard that Intel in Munich and Nuremberg will close

Anyone knows if there is any truth to that? I heard it‘s supposed to happen starting from January with a staggered layoff taking place, with people being let go every three months until everyone is gone. A very low percentage of key people will be offered relocations to other Intel sites. Supposedly, the announcement will come in November.

I usually would have assumed it‘s BS, but the guy who told me about this was very specific about the details.

Stupid claims.

Paris or Swindon will be a better candidate for closure.

At least when Mr BK was at the helm. This was the management philosophy

All sites with less than 400 people are to be closed and the jobs shipped to USA/Israel/India/China

Now I don't know the latest status of the management.

So this could be an old rumour resurfacing here for trolling or the same philosophy continues.

Every two months there is a troll with the same message:

Munich and Nuremberg are closing

Well, not really. But, enjoy your trolling

Hope you are right, OP! These sites need to lose a lot of deadwood who aren't producing but are scamming the system. Then after that, hopefully TMG will lose people or get spun off. Intel stock is going nowhere and needs a boost. If Intel doesn't have the products, needs to get rid of the people.

Not happening, but under review, but for sure EMEA small ones will keep shrinking.
