Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Just move on and leave Sears in the rear view mirror!

Like many of you I used to work for Sears, I drank the kool aid, sold the PAs, pushed the SYWR and talked up credit. I spent eight of those years never getting a raise and had seven store managers and who knows how many District managers over that time. For much of my time there I enjoyed managing my people and creating life long friends. Shortly after I left pretty much all the stores in my district announced they were closing, I wasn’t surprised. Like so many others, my future will not be with Sears, my wasted time and dedication will never be paid back. I will never understand how my 28 million dollar store sank to less than 7 million in such a short time? You really have to try really hard from a corporate level to mess everything up that bad. Having been gone a while now I can tell you all that it not only gets better but that it is better elsewhere. Leave and don’t look back, there is no future and you will find something better and you will see what you can only see once you’re out. I wish you all luck.

Well said, OP. Everyone who is still hanging on in the hopes of severance, take heed that there are better jobs out there, and if anyone tries to guilt you into staying, then you should ask them why they are not leaving. This is a good job market. There are other places you can go, and you will be much happier. It's like divorcing a truly toxic person. You will be so much better off, that you will be mad at yourself for not leaving sooner.
