I was told that sales reps only work as exerting twenty (20) to fifty (50) pounds of force accasionally, or ten (10) to twenty-five (25) pounds of force frequently, or an amount greater than negligible and up to ten pounds constantly. (Constantly : activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. I would really like to know exactly how physically demanding this job is.

That sums it up in a nutshell! If you're looking for a typical sales job this is not for you! Not much selling involved! You're cleaning up messes from lazy merchandisers all day! Product is not heavy but physical labor is definitely involved everyday
Most of the time your delt with the last cart in the back room with a flat tire that wobbles your order to the floor through the store or pulls so hard in one direction you constantly have to stop every 5 feet to keep from running into anything and everything. Or you get a bad jack that doesn’t want to jack. Having to maneuver 1/2 pallet PRDs off of a full size pallet all while the thing is torn to pieces.
The labor isn’t bad. It’s more the BS little things that get old. And yes, merchandisers are little to no help at all after going behind them and fixing everthing they were instructed to do.
Amen. Standards have been lowered to the extreme. As long as you have a pulse, welcome aboard. No need to be able to see to rotate dates, or walk briskly to work with a sense of purpose.
As far as physical work, if you aren’t able to bust your butt don’t apply. It’s physical!
What I am curious about is how much labor you do. How heavy are the carts and pallets that you push and pull ?? How much do the repack boxes weigh.I am thinking of taking a job, but I need to know how back breaking the job is. I do not want to get hurt
It's cookies and crackers lol!! Not rocket science!! All reps are is glorified merchandisers nowadays! I throw 1 to 3 orders everyday. My merchandisers s---. They one have one job to do and they are to lazy to do it! It's like a country club on this team. Merchandisers start whenever they want. Nothing is never said to them. I'm always writing blind orders or helping their lazy a$$es so I can write a Damn order! Upper management knows that DSD is ending soon. They don't care! They need all the bodies possible for when the mass exodus begins.
