Vendors running for the hills

No way anyone would do business with them now. Not even cash before delivery. Burnttoast#

Re: clawback. I don't see how paying a vendor upfront for a reasonable amount of inventory for operations could be considered fraudulent in a Ch. 11 restructuring. Two or three years' worth of goods, sure, but 30-60 days of inventory? But I'm no expert.

Vendors are on NET 60 for invoices. Any filing for protection will intimately kill SHC. No vendors = No inventory.

In Chapter 7 bankruptcy, the trustee has the right to take back property or money that the debtor improperly gave away before filing. "Clawback" is the term used to describe this power, which allows the trustee to regain assets should have been part of the debtor's bankruptcy estate, but were removed or hidden from the trustee by the debtor by means of preferential or fraudulent transfers.

Yeah, but if a vendor had already been paid, what's the problem?

Why wouldn’t you deliver if you had cash before a delivery? Worst case the store is closed and you get your stuff back.
