Has anything or anyone since 9/24 when the VSP was offered given you a good reason to NOT volunteer?

Me personally only speaking about me I feel as if I have had a good run 19 yrs in I'm still young as I started when I was 18. I can take this money go find a different job that matches my goals in life because Verizon is not it. While I appreciate the paycheck it's time to not feel like an employee id
Leaving means lower salary, less vacation, loss of seniority & smaller bonus. But I'm not happy, feel like I'm just hanging on until they RIF me and really worry about what's going to be left of the company after VSP.
The HR calls are guided based on feedback so I wouldn’t base too much on them.
For me nothing had been said to make me stay. Just looking over my benefits and paycheck.
I see how I could really fit in to one new area of the organization, so yes. But they're not set up to hire yet, and they Hans wants to sweep away the highly compensated old-timers, and I am in IT and susceptible to outsourcing so there are still too many reasons to go. Even if I stay, with the lost headcount they may be unwilling to let me escape to another department.
Even with a reason to stay, the hurdles to jump through are formidable.
Yes, I was told by my boss they would be lost if I decided to take the package and that they hoped I chose to stay. Still not sure what to do because I would be paid 54 weeks.
My Senior manager- who said he wanted me to take over for him and the other manager who was leaving.
Then he got his pee-pee whacked by execs, and that ain't happening.
Yes. Health benefits are great. If you desperately need them.
No. The company has changed in a few short months. The culture is going to be different which is okay,but will be an enormous change from the stable boring and steady company run by blue suits. Those days are gone. If you have been here a while I feel like you won’t fit in. I worry the new leaders may not be in place for the long. Interesting today’s noon call with HR seems to be laying the ground work for NOT accepting the masses. Remedy to stay on the reasons why they may not be able to accept everyone who volunteers.
