BK has been up in the air for years. Watch it finally get sold, as neither HON CEO liked the business. That will finish off ABQ for good.

To partially complete the picture:

The Defense part of Albuquerque is relocating and the building is being sold.

Bending King which has been in Albuquerque for 6 years at the same site is staying in Albuquerque. When the building is sold BK will either lease space back from the new owner or move and lease new space in Albuquerque.

There are small groups of finance, corp advance tech, and corp cyber that will also stay till building is sold. There is also a possibility they will stay in Albuquerque.

Most of Tucson has already been outsourced to Celestica.

It’s true, the doors will be closing and another vacant building will be up for sale on the Q. No high tech jobs here. They say doors will close by the end of 2019. Welcome to the beautiful Land of a Enchantment.

They are moving ABQ to the Phoenix/Deer valley site. We were just told today. They are offering relocation packages to anyone and everyone there. CCA's will be going to Clear Water and something like 60 engineering positions to Puerto Rico. They are wanting as many people as possible to relocate to Phx so if you are willing to do so at least you can keep your job.

Just another in a long list. They’ll shut it down for the simple fact that most of leadership can’t even spell Albuquerque, let alone find it on a map.

Meeting planned on Friday in Albuquerque to announce shut down might be delayed at least a week due to some issue. Sorry I know that is vague and not very specific, but the conversation (rumor) with my manager was vague and not very specific. I'm still hoping this all just a rumor. My boss seems convinced it is coming but I don't think he is in a real position to know.

Clearwater has nothing in common with Albuquerque. With the new virtual US Engineering Service Center being put in place with centralized cost/work centers and labor pools, work can be done anywhere. The new center along with transitioning to Time Work Bench will make the system CAS compliant, so government/defense/space work can be done anywhere. Bottom line, Phoenix Deer Valley will pick up the work since they are the commercial counterpart to Albuquerque.

The local chatter is that the announcement of site shut down is coming on Friday and that work moving to Puerto Rico and Clearwater Defense. Very few people will move.
