I was part of the Cisco Jasper 1.4billion acquisition. Another sad example of how large company can mangle an agile and innnovative product. New management from Cisco came in and it was so painful to see them wrestle with basic SAAS concepts. They could not spell "IOT" :-) Thats what happens when all you know is how to sell boxes. New SVP brought in her lackey VP and they started slashing costs. They only had 1 internal all-hands meeting in 8 months, offered no solid strategy, no alignment to larger Cisco, no effort to streamline. Complete chaos. Meanwhile SPV and VP are prancing around twitter attending women-empowering conferences and BS activities while their business is tanking.
Jasper product service is in serious jeopardy. Many key product and network engineering talented individual either bailed or leaving. I feel sad for customers who will be kept in the dark. This is a definition of poor leadership and lack of communication and a complete lack of transparency.
