Any work in China is a red flag. Frankly, those thieving bas###ds make a priority of stealing US technology, since they can never invent it themselves. Just a personal opinion, folks.
All the work to be done by Xiamen? That should raise a red flag to anyone in the know.
The article states that "The repair works will be carried out by Honeywell TAECO Aerospace (Xiamen) Co. Ltd." The Honeywell Xiamen site in China is already an established MRO (Maintenance Repair/Overhaul) site and has been for a number of years. They already have many similar service agreements with other Chinese airlines. These types of contracts are cash cows for Honeywell so there's nothing negative about it.

Betting that China has already stolen the technology. It wouldn't be the first time.
All that does is make one NOT want to fly on those airlines.
And being a "launch customer" of any new Honeywell service or product will likely not end well. Just think of the buzz words "GoDirect" and "Connected". You know how well that goes.
At some point China will figure out how to, or Honeywell will just hand it to them, how to build an APU unit themselves, so at some point Honeywell will become irrelevant in another market a predecessor company HON bought, had owned that market at some point in time.
