Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

How safe is SERMA?

I'm a recent retiree, and I'm wondering if the money in my SERMA account is protected, as in a trust for example. I am not withdrawing anything from it currently as I currently have insurance through better options, but certainly don't want to risk losing it.

I am a retiree as well. Have about 50k in serma. I am also not using since I am covered by my current employer. I have zero medical premiums since I always sign up for HDHP. The way I look at it is, even if it not safe, there is nothing I can do about it. I do not need it now anyway, since you can only pay medical premiums from it, not expenses. Just to use it I am not not going to sign up for HDHP!

Hope this helped

I think a much better place to ask your question would be on the IRO site, not a non-Intel "layoff" site overrun by a bunch of trolls that like to screw with people. You'll get a legitimate answer there. If you don't know what the IRO site is... I suggest you read the material Intel sent you as a retiree. I'm always surprised at how many people on this site have no idea what all perks they have since they didn't read all the retiree info.

IRO = Intel Retiree Organization and can be reached at intelretiree@intelretiree.com to sign up. I'd think they'd need your name and WWID and perhaps the date you retired. They can tell you what all they need to identify you.
