Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

More to come?

I've heard from several people that this round of layoffs might extend throughout the week. I'm not sure what they're basing that on, though.

I just know I'll be really, really happy when this whole week is finally over (if I still have a job by the end of it, of course.)

I can confirm the De. 21 date for some of us. I am a RB in RTP and that is my last day. The fun part is that your company is not supposed to tell you until the day of. Merry Christmas if you celebrate that holiday.

I have heard from multiple sources that Red Badges in CX will face a big layoff around Dec 21. Does anyone know about this?

was in BGL campus today. barely 10% staff were in office due to festival.

so maybe it will start next week after all the sacrificial sheep/goats are fed and happy over this light duty week.

Managers have been meeting during October and even as late as this week so the layoffs are happening right now and many may not even know if they are the next to go.

Look around RTP. Do you see senior leadership meetings happening?

Ok. Now you know.

It depends on your location; if you are CX US or Canada, you can take a breath for the next 90 days; other geographical areas may be delayed due to local legal issues or cultural events.

BUT by NO means assume you are Safe; this is the new normal as this very ambitious and Convoluted 'transformation blueprint' is Aggressively pursued; the major problem is that it does not reflect the reality of delivery in the trenches - but that won't stop it, especially as they add pieces to the puzzle. So expect major changes in the forms of stressful uncertainty, realignments without clear direction...just the nature of the 'transformation beast' ?

Think of taking several huge lumps of clay and looking at a drawing for instructions (with the infamous dotted lines) on how to merge and sculpt those clumps a simpler, highly effective, efficient model - but naturally, as you move forward you will have to make changes, adjustments....

So lumps of clay will be moved and reshaped - or cut off - and in the end the stud race horse in the drawing will end up as a zebra, at best...

Business history is littered with similar cases; just look at the latest in IBM and GE, both of which, btw, are/were HUGE adopters of 'AGILE' as their core guide to help transform their businesses...
