Found out our call center is for sale. How long will it before we are let go?

Elgin JUST moved into Rolling Meadows 2 years ago, so why would that shutter so soon?
They are only going to close those they are allowed to. The ones with a contract are good till 2023 at minimum. The others without protection will close as leases run out, facilities are sold off, and remote work implementations occur. Probably a slow march to eventually shutter them all some quicker than others.

I am not referring to union call centers. This is regarding wireless call centers.
The union contract was to end 2019 the company agreed to extend it to 2023.So the protection of not closing call centers stays until August of 2023
BS they are not closing centers. The contract addresses this. Maybe some unrepresented ones might have an issue.

Either upper management is left in the dark about the remaining centers closing too or they know and won't tell the reps because they know most people will quit.
1buq-Never said I didnt believe it. I work in a call center in a town that VZ sold ALL of their real estate EXCEPT the one I'm located. All upper management states our center is: safe, nothing happening, we aren't going to close, we are hiring/have hired.... yet, that big old building sits practically empty except for the floor and a half our call center occupies. I pressed the button the early morning hours of 10/1. I'm done living with the uncertainty and unknown (or lies if that's the case)
Xei-believe it, don't believe it. I don't really care. 90% of what is written on this board is true. But there is always one who thinks it is fake news. Just like the buyout was fake, or most stores being sold off to indirects is fake, or when the stores eliminated ops and csr's, or when half of the other call centers closed. All fake right?
call centers are all leased this day and age. there were some that vz owned the building long ago but sold to a third party company from which vz leases the building back. this is a liability and also a tax stategy issue which most Fortune 500 use. vz probably planned to close center and the third party holding the title has chosen to sell the building. check your county assessors office for the parcel number then check the county recorders office to see who owns the property. then you will see how it works. check your state wage and hour bureau website for any WARN notices that vz may have filed. usually only 60 days notice required.
