In Mkt 50. We were able to work The Taste of Sam's but we also helped out the desk because it has been so busy. Praying they do get rid of Membership In Field Associates. Tired of the mess it has become
Anyone else been pulled in from the field we are not allowed to go out. We were not even allowed to do the taste of Sam's. Just working the member service desk
It doesnt matter if you received new IPADS.
Its time for membership to go. Sales pro is a joke. I seen a post that it would be gone after the holidays. I pray that this is true. Since a lot of the things said on here actually did happen. Might not have been in the exact time frame but did happen. Membership has to be next.
Our marketing team can’t produce. They can’t compete with the social play offers (even the ones that aren’t always communicated to us) & members come in demanding gift cards for renewals. Great ladies but nothing to show for it. We did receive new iPads though (we had one already).
Was anyone elses GM on a conference call? Maybe tomorrow?!?! Like they did with claims and receiving. I am praying. I hearing more and more that companies are not allowed to have us out.

@W5E you are correct. Our services are no longer needed. The Company is only trying to keep up with all this online war going on. Paying wages and mileage isnt the way to go anymore. We all try to do our job to the best of our abilities but sometimes we have to change with the times.
It’s not about which clubs marketing team busts their buts It’s the fact that you’re no longer needed to bring in new memberships and renewals due to on line/social media offers that are much more cost effective to the company than having to pay the associates wages and mileage. No different than other eliminations that have taken place and will continue to take place. Not trying to sound mean, just seeing the reality of the future in retail.
You are correct membership teams dont just sit around and collect mileage. Those associates have no idea that in field associates have goals to exceed. They also bring the mouthy associates a Sam's Share

@1 umk you are not the only one who daily bust butt to get memberships. Do you really think the rest of us dont? It's a daily struggle anymore so just maybe we get tired of busting our butts.
Maybe in some clubs the marketing team don't work. But their is some of us that bust Butt everyday to get members
It was on Chatter that iPads now wont come out until after the first of the year. They just keep moving back the date. Yes, we all know what the outcome is going to be.
If they are going to do it this would be the week. That would put them through Christmas with us (45 days ). Then after the first of the year they wouldn't have to pay Sam's share or insurance. They would be saving lots of money. As I am sure most membership associates would take the package. I mean really the memberchamp in my club is an over paid cashier or runner. There is no membership coordinator. Leaving only the MTL who fills in for COS or desk or works the floor.
Then there is still PTC. Do the do both in one week or wait til after January to get rid of PTC?
They put the iPads on hold or what??
Our Management wants us to think everything is ok but really w all the changes happening .
What's next to come for Sam's Club???
They should go ahead and do away with Marketing/Membership all we get is renewals anymore anyway. Getting harder to get into Businesses also with all the violence going on in the world. Last week Memberships were being advertised on The Steve Harvey Show. Great advertising so they really dont need us.
Oh Lord! Bring it on. We are past ready for Marketing to be over!! So useless now to even have those positions along with Member Champion.
