I've leaked enough information on this forum over the past several weeks to know that even though everything I've leaked turned out to be true, the deniers and paid company shills will come out of the woodwork like they always do. Oh well, this may well be my last post anyway, because Sears certainly won't be around much longer, and I am now working my last week for the company. The fact is that Black Friday is, in effect, the final company-wide liquidation. In fact, I mentioned a few months back in another post that I strongly suspected it would play out this way. My intuition was correct, and I can now confirm that this is in fact the case. What this means is that as far as Sears is concerned, anyone still working for them after Black Friday is essentially worthless. The only staff needed will be a small handful of people to close down what is left of the store. In other words, there will be a MASSIVE wave of layoffs the day after Black Friday. If you are an SM or anyone making decent money, you will be the first to go. Sears has no intention of paying good money for what will essentially be a clean-up crew. Like I said, though, it doesn't matter because almost everyone will be gone anyway. As I said many times earlier (and has now been proven) there is no more severance and there are no safe stores. Good luck to everyone. I know it is frustrating, but there are better things awaiting.

OP nailed it again.
How so? How does it look like OP was correct? Any news?
Starting to look like OP was correct.
OP here. I hate to say that I told you so, but....
I told you so.
Why do people have so much hate for a 400 chain department store? I hope they get the help they need.
This post is fake news.
Nearest Kmart actually has product on the shelves. I was shocked to see them block and feathered to about 1/2 full. Sinage ? Everything at or above regular price , with the Spend $50 get $20 back in points promo dispersed throughout the store just about everywhere .
First thought was- would I ever get to cash in the points ?
Now we're going to talk about aids? The haters on this website have sunk to a new low. They offer no proof of their claim everything is shutting down on November 23. It must be hard being on the unemployment line and blaming Sears for your sad pathetic lives. Sad!! Very sad.
good-bye, Sears. And good riddance.
My guess is the company will last through the holiday season. I would be very surprised if it shut down the Sat of Thanksgiving weekend.
It would make more business sense to have the January clearance be the final clearance for most of the stores.
I guess 400 will stay open for a time after that but I predict that they'll not last.
Doesn't matter though. The Die Hards will stay on & others will look for new jobs and leave. The timeline do not change this.
Corporate shill states - liars, frauds, unload the truck, basement dweller, BS, pathetic, comeback.
Typical low class people.
"Where's your crystal ball now?"
Got it right here. I see you in the hospital dying of AIDS.
Lots of angry losers on this board who are cheering for a company to go away. What pathetic lives they lead. They post c-ap like the OP claiming to have known everything long ago. Total frauds. Where's your crystal ball now?
Managers in desperation mode.
RE: Is it just me or does the OP sound like a pompous unemployed a--hole?
Dude, you sound like a pompous Sears manager.
"Total BS as usual. The stores will be open in 2019. Deal with it trolls."
Yeah keep telling yourself that
Who is the source the fairy godmother?
Is it just me or does the OP sound like a pompous unemployed a--hole? Do you live in a basement?
I'm a millennial and I shop at Sears (and Kmart too) :)
"If the original post is true why is he being so cagy about it? Total BS as usual. The stores will be open in 2019. Deal with it trolls."
Yes, and severance will be paid. And we are not in bankruptcy. And the safe store list is really safe. did I miss anything?

This actually makes a lot of sense.
The creditors and C-level management want Black Friday to happen, because they think it will generate some serious cash and they are too dumb to know otherwise.
Then close down ASAP after BF, in order to stop the serious cash burn that is going on, which will soon go through all the available cash.
I don't know if this is a troll or not, but anyone with an IQ above 3 should realize two things:
Every Sears store will soon be closed, if not before Christmas then shortly after
AND
Sears is not going to pay your managers salary to do what they can hire a millenial to do (close the store)
OP is correct; I've known this since last week. I didn 't post it here because: A) I knew what the reaction would be and B) It's pretty much common sense.
"What are they going to do, fire you?"
Yes. Fire you for cause, which could make it impossible your you to collect unemployment.
Look, it s---s working on a holiday. I loathe that Thanksgiving shopping is a thing (it never used to be), and I don't shop Thanksgiving, hoping consumer pressure would stop the practice (it hasn't). But don't jeopardize unemployment by giving Sears CAUSE. Unemployment is better than no income at all.
No one is saying you have to do 110%, just be smart. Do your job, get your resumes out there and try to find something soon. I guarantee you, when the time comes and you're in that new job none of this current churn will matter. There is nothing gained by being unprofessional, and knowing you held to the ethical high ground when your employer did not is a psychological win; and is good leverage when job interviewing. I was part of a crew that had been laid off, but had to stick around to manage the transition in order to get my severance and that has interview "bank." It tells possible employers you are responsible, can see the big picture, are a team player and thus worth the investment.
If you're going to "protest" though, at least do so wisely. A 'blue flu' would come in handy, just have your story ready.
Don't work on Thanksgiving; All Sears and Kmart employees should boycott and walk out. What are they going to do, fire you? They are going to fire 50 percent of the sears/kmart employees after black friday and this is a FACT, not fake news. You NOT getting any severance, and the company doesn't give a rats a-- about you. They want to squeeze every last penny out of the company and leave it like dust in the desert. Go apply for a new retail or other job before companies stop hiring for for the holidays. You won't find any retail jobs in Jan & Feb when all the sears/kmarts are gone. Eddie will walk away richer, and you'll be begging on the street corner! This is REAL NEWS and it hurts!
The OP should leak to everyone on this thread when he was laid off. You don't know anything. You are posting hate. Find a new job and move on dude. You are sad.
Sears will likely end up liquidating....but not until after the holidays......Same thing with somebody recently posting that the 150 stores under review would all close in November and it turned out only 40 of them were announced.
Our Manager has been using up all his vacation time lately. And posting his resume on every job site on the net. I hear this is happening all over. Only a fool can't see the end is near. I always thought the paid shills routine was a joke, now I'm starting to really wonder.
"am a Sears manager, so I know for a fact that none of this is true. We are not closing after BF, and in fact Sears as a whole is making a comeback. Those employees who stay loyal will reap great rewards. They only people we ever got rid of were thieves and Negative Nancys. In 2019, WalMart and Target just may find themselves running scared".
Haha what comeback? Sears does not know what to do other than business as usual and their black friday ad is p**s poor
Well if the big shots are expecting Black Fridays ad to “ sleigh” the holidays they have big surprises coming!!!
Worst Black Friday I’ve seen in my 12 years with the company!!
BORING!!
The big shots actually slayed the workers with this disaster of a Black Friday sale!!

This thread went south fast.
here come the shills. one of them is already posting junk articles to push this thread down. But it's all a lie, right? Just like bankruptcy , no severance, and no safe stores, right??? LOL>
The OP is a liar, probably a laid off HE troll.
@oas - Takes one to confirm one!
"This post is complete horse sh--. Black Friday has become a joke. It's not even the busiest shopping day of the year anymore. What does Black Friday have to do with anything. The latest round of store closings is happening in Feb. Total jack a--."
Are you f*cking r----ded?
