Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Any news on layoffs before Christmas?

Just wondering if anything new has surfaced about the rumored layoffs round that's supposed to take place sometime ahead of Christmas?

I can't stop worrying, especially with the timing. Would it be really that hard to wait until after the holidays, if nothing else? But that would be a humane thing to do, something Xerox is not known for...

I heard the same thing, a big layoff happening before the end of the year, plus there was the notification regarding year end interest reminder to all employees. I am sure they will continue to cut and cut and cut, going down to bare bones, then sell off. John V gets paid full on bonus and salary for 24 months. Perhaps push the timeline up quicker, say get it done in 12 months, scale down an sell, there still is another 12 months of golden parachute pay to collect and fly off into the sunset. Its criminal, but seems that is the corporate america way.

In addition, end of the year layoffs also help with WARN notices as it typically takes longer for State agencies to post them due to the Holidays and the notices themselves are often buried behind other business and regular news, assuming anyone notices a WARN notice while inhaling Thanksgiving dinner and opening Holiday presents.

I was recently (April 2018) let go from Xerox after 16 years. Its a pity that this company has lost its credibility with customers. Xerox use to be Great! People looked up to Xerox. Now, its embarrassing to say that I worked with this company for so many years. The management has no direction. Playing favoritism is popular. Qualified people are let go while friends of management are privileged to stay. Look at it as a blessing to be let go. There are so many jobs available ~7.5 Million jobs (Thank you President). Raise your hand to take the package. Let your manager know you are ready on the next go-around. Living under those conditions with that "layoff cloud" over your head is no way to live. Update your resume and cover letters. Start applying. Lots of jobs and opportunities outside of Xerox. There is "Life" after Xerox. The competition will pick you up in a split second.

Shame on you Xerox for destroying a good thing because of your "greed".

Guaranteed to have layoffs. I survived 8 of them over the last 17 years. Most "re-structuring" layoffs occur between late October and mid-December. To appease shareholders or potential buyers. Other minor layoffs occur throughout the year as they are adjustment-type.

I got canned myself at the end of October. Rumor has it that a big wave will hit on or about November 28th before settling down.
