cisco bangalore has a army (tall stack) of "leaders", and powerpoint commandos who are very highly compensated well beyond any value they impart.

but the good TLs, G10s who would form the core Dev and DT of any co are either leaving, pushed out or keeping well clear of joining. this lot is underpaid relative to the compensation. and career growth in the larger BUs is non-existent, I know a few people who are 15 years exp and still G10.

In CCBU BLR, they layed off many IC below JG10 and have distributed their salary among the managers/leadershp. No one in the CCBU Leadership in BLR earns less than INR 55 L/year +RSUs are guaranteed.

there were around 800 in sp routing india spread across XR PD and PI teams, mostly in bgl15. this is recollection from my last all-hands. they have been struggling for budget for a while now, with periodic departures from SJC team as well , no real team events, no gifts, miserly CR awards.

but managers, PEs and directors continue to take home massive packages per old regulatory filings of all those >60L/annum which people have obtained and are passing around on whatsapp :) so when they browbeat poor g6 and g8 about no money for promos and raises, it rings a bit thin.

the game has changed. younglings these days are armed with good info and not so gullible anymore, of every batch from colleges that enters csco, very few are left after 2 years.

Yes, it's happening. Today a very big person said that all jobs cuts in my org (enggineering org) are done. He was saying numbers are not huge but what we hear or see is they are.

My entire team is layed off today including freshers and manager. No one spared and it was unexpected. We got a meeting invite at 4 am for a 11 Am meeting and it lasted for 10 mins. The director named Michelle’s Fleury read a script already printed unempathetically and very carelessly. That’s the reality of LR at Cisco. What hurt more was the way she has done. A most useless leader I have encountered who lacks complete empathy.

If that's true, for people in US, maybe it is time to consider selling CSCO if it peaks a little to avoid disappointment in 1-2 Qtrs.
