Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

My time at Xerox

I spent 20 years with Xerox as a CSE. Then 2 Years with Xerox as a RSS. I was able to transition to a RSS because Xerox was replacing all the CSE's in my area with 3rd party contractors. When my dad died in 2001 I felt the support of everyone at Xerox and it mad me proud to be working for a great Company. When my mom died in 2016 my dirty sneaky manager told me she was so sorry and wanted to send flowers to the funeral home which she never did and just used the information to confirm my mom had just died. Great company to sh-- hole. Glad I retired when I did.

Dear US968700, I am so sorry you did not receive support from your manager when your mom died. Xerox policy does provide what I consider a minimal amount of money for flowers when a member of the employee's family passes away. In fact, it's so minimal when you add in the delivery charge, I was embarrassed to have flowers sent with Xerox on the card, so generally up-sized the arrangement and paid the balance myself. It was the least I could do to honor employees on my team. I do not regret that one bit, even though I was laid off earlier this year.
