@W7yqP0A-xsq That is so funny! Why did he lie though? I get that district managers are very unreasonable at times but he could have just been honest with her and who knows, maybe other stores were most likely in the same exact situation. Maybe the district manager and corporate would be left with no choice but to increase everybody's hours to get everything out.

You are clueless for showing dedication to a company that could not give a rat's a-- about you at this point in the game.....The OP probably has no hours and no people to put the stuff out on the floor.

Nope. Not a shill and not in denial, you clueless person. I don't give a ---- about the 'dog and pony show' nonsense requirements, but that's what OP focused on while leaving piles of merchandise in the back instead. You have to have product out where customers can get to it, even if it's an ugly mess, for customers to be able to buy it so more of the desperate vendors who deserve payment might actually be able to be paid.

Congrats on making your store look even worse to any potential customers who wander in, OP! Half-empty really drives sales.

We did the same thing last year we hide some Z-racks all the way were we kept compressors in the back. Things we did to pass

When I worked there our store manager had the bright idea to hide all the Z-racks and bakers racks of freight in a few random rooms in the back room of our store since we were falling way behind on getting it put away. Then we had a district manager visit. Our manager apparently told the district manager that all the freight was 100% put away and processed. I remember hearing the DM making the remark over and over again that she found it odd that key merchandise was not on the floor when it was loaded onto the trucks.

It just so happened that somebody who only worked a few days a month was scheduled to come in that day and didn't get the message about our manager's crafty plan to make himself look good. She clocked in, went to the back and emerged with a Z-rack right in front of the district manager, when she was told by our manager that we were all caught up. I wish I was there to witness the DM's reaction but apparently she called in everybody in on their day off who could come in. I didn't see our manager for the rest of the day. We pulled probably 15 Z-racks, 20 bakers racks and 10 bullets out of all the different little rooms in the stockroom. Then we discovered that there was a whole pallet of hardlines and a ton of purses crammed into a wire bin.

That spring, our store manager was out.
