How many of you will still use Verizon services once you're gone? I personally can't wait to switch to something else once I'm in no way tied to the company and I know a lot of people who feel the same way.
I wonder if the number if high enough to make those on top take notice...
T-Mobile provides the best value for the buck. Retirees get screwed by the company on both discounts and healthcare. They should also shift to T-Mobile. Who knows maybe they can even do a new UnCarrier plan for former Verizon managers and retirees.

If they announced they were going to give retiree's the discount they had as employee's, I'd stay with them... But after a yr on the retiree plan, I'm about to change over to Comcast wireless. Keep the VZ phone I have (paid off), and use the VZ network anyway, while only pay $15/gig. I've only gone over 1gig in a month maybe 5 times since 2011, so I know I don't need more. And even if I do once and a while, who cares, I'll still be way ahead of the game. Believe me I would love to stay with the company that paid me for 30 yrs, but I'm not going to just toss money down the drain. There is no good reason for them not to offer retiree's the 50% discount... There are a hell of a lot of retiree's out there and its better to have them as a customer for a little less, than not at all. Besides "most" retiree's are not out there clogging up the network with high data use. We have better things to do, than sit on facebook or download movies all day long. I'm sure they would still make a profit. At least more than they are going to make when I'm paying Comcast $15/month(total) and using the VZ network anyway.
Switching to T-Mobile. Most of the time I use WiFi calling anyway. It’s 35 per line in one person is over55. They also will buy you out of your contract.

@W8moHQU-cdc...Fed me...??????????????? I worked for my paycheck. Verizon did nothing for me out of charity. Get it. And of course I go with the best deal for me. Check Verizon's pricing lately or last 5 years. They are far more pricey than the competition.
What about keeping work # after separation? Is that being offered?

That's laughable. Possibly where you live. Where I am at ATT and Tmobile blow them away. MINT MOBILE rides on Tmobile as a MVNO. Blows away Verizon. Project FI blows Verizon Away. Verizon is the best at separating money from consumers wallets. Cell service trouble????? Sell a newhandset. Again F*ck Vagizon.
I would switch to T-Mobile in a heartbeat if the cell service was better. Much cheaper. I also like taxes included and free Netflix
Switched years ago. Once they started treating me like a 2nd class "customer", not allowing me to purchase the new iPhone when it launched; having to wait weeks after its release, I release them and switched to Tmo.
Verizon was the leader when voice calls lead the way and VZ was better at preventing dropped calls, but people use texting and data more, and I've found that texting and data work the same if not better and faster.
Still using a flip phone on VZ network with meager employee discount. Were T-Mobile viable in my area I would be using a smart phone and T-Mobile.
I have considered going to StraightTalk and using the ATT network; of course I would get a smartphone then.

Verizon deserves non of it's employees money. I left along time ago. Comcast Internet. OOMA for landline and business faxing. AT&T and MINT MOBILE for wireless. Stream TV and use an attic mounted antenna.
My Comcast Gigabit internet has been FAR more reliable then FiOS.
Last Superbowl, this scumbag company promised my neighbor they would be out to fix A FEEDER FIOS CABLE THAT WAS CUT. It was known there was a superbowl party at my neighbors. When called to ask about the missed appointment/repair my neighbor was told by a vagizon rep that he had enough time to cancel or move his party.
I got him hooked up with comcast.

So the company that fed you and your family for many years that gave you hundreds of thousands of dollars you will cancel out of spite? Go ahead, no one will notice. They are sick of giving discounts to entitled employees anyway. You think that they will stop RIF's because you cancel? Management does not say to themselves "We shall keep 100k/year employees to continue getting $100/month from them buying our services.
I will drop them only because TMobile coverage is good here and they are cheaper, not because of spite

Most retirees switch plans elsewhere... many to the budget carriers that use the same VZ network while beating the Verizon Retiree discount price. (my VZ discount worked out to 13.6% retiree vs the 46.2% employee discount off the full price bill.) Hell, SAMS employees get the same discount as a Verizon retiree

As I understand it as a retiree if you leave your personal VZW plan then you can't come back and get the 25% retiree service later. Just something to consider.
When I was RIFd I dumped FiOS. Sadly, I soon had to come back as it it was way superior to the competition. Don't think the same applies to wireless though
