@nfo They just haven't updated the way it displays on product pages on SYW.com. Try to actually check out and it'll still hit you with the $59 minimum.
Even worse is they charge you shipping per item rather then order. 6.50 halloween lights cost 6.50 each to ship with no store pickup available.
SYW.com still lists shipping $35 - Get it while you can!
They've been changing the terms of Max repeatedly for years. Originally it was free shipping on anything, then free shipping on $10+, then $25-$35 while the minimum for non-Max members was $49-$59, but then the non-Max minimum dropped to $35, and then $25 for a few months, then back to $35 for most of this past year.
So Max has been worthless for a year or two already, but you at least break even on it because they give you back the value of the monthly fee as points each month. But I don't know if anyone is even still being charged for it; I've heard that the last time any of the few paying users' renewals came up in the past year, they received a year of extension for free, and continued to receive the $3/month in points.
Now that Max could finally have some slight value again, nope, its free shipping minimum has shot up to $59 too, remaining equal with the non-Max minimum.
UPS rescinded their credit line. It is pay at the end of each day or else. They had to do something. Sears is also seeing its discount slashed because package volume has dropped below guaranteed minimums. Eddie's minions used to have us alert IT to quietly waive shipping charges on the website whenever we were threatened with failing our volume metrics. That ticked off the stores who were shipping $5 orders for free but we kept our discount. No more of that.
If you paid for Max; get your money back. They changed the terms.
Yep, let's just pretend we don't have to compete! Dumb move
We are doing everything we can to close as soon as possible
