Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Nike is not 40+ friendly

If you’re over 40 at Nike, you better have friends in high places.

This is very much true. Nobody over 40 (it used to be 50 a while back, but that number seems to be dropping rapidly) is safe at Nike. Part of it is higher pay, part is probably the "hip" factor, and who knows what else...

The point is, if you are at Nike and are over 40, I'd be on the lookout for another job just in case.

Having experience at Nike is considered a bad thing. It makes it harder for executives to sell the same story over and over again - with the same lack of results - and more importantly forces them to take accountability for the disasters they leave behind them. The ones with experience have the facts and will need to go. They know too much.

Nike isn’t Nike anymore. It will never be again.

There sure were a lot of 40+ year old women in the 2017 layoffs that were weeded out.

this is obvious to anyone at Nike - though no one dares to say this out loud.

Ageism at Nike is as bad as the s-xism. Take a look around WHQ. The people over 40 are weeded out.
