Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Protesting the Pentagon cloud deal didn't work

I really couldn't see the point in protesting the bid. The Pentagon is a customer like anyone else and it’s logical that they are looking for a product that suits their needs in the best possible way. Think that this is on a too big of a scale and that a lot of parties are involved to be playing favorites. Even if the allegations in Oracle’s protest are correct (again: very unlikely) does anyone really think that Oracle has the best offer. It’s time to put our feet back on the ground and admit that we have an inferior product to the product of our competitors.

Lose graciously. You want to be remembered for that. In my current job, when we lose a bid, the boss hounds them for days to try to get them to change their minds. It is f---ing embarrassing to be cc’d on those discussions. You can bet they will remember the batshit manager giving them a ration of sh--, and not consider us as a potential vendor.
