Post Acquisition Layoffs

When we got acquired it took about a year before IBM played musical chair with all the managers moving in IBM managers that had no clue what they were taking over.

Shortly after that the bluewashing and chopping started, many of the brighter stars jumped ship and moved to google when they saw what was happening. What was left after the smoke cleared was just a shell of its former self and the products were hammered into blue shape renamed to one of the IBM brand lines and sold in barely working poorly integrated with the rest of the brand state.

Even worse product support was given to IBM Helpless so customers got great service too.

Not long after development was offshored as well.

Ibm constantly does the reorganization/reinvent itself thing to blow more smoke at investors and each iteration comes with a swinging axe.

Was I happy and excited when we got assimilated, yes,

Was I happy and still working there a few years later, not so much.

What a joke I've Been Manipulated has become. The lousy dividends hardly keep up with cost of living increases. Could someone explain why anyone would want to hold this stock and reward management incompetence with excessive bonuses and payoffs? Now off to read about AWS two new headquarters and put my money to work!

This list of acquired companies is unbelievable. How could you acquire 160 companies and still have declining revenue The entire Board and CEO should be fired.

Complacent cattle is about right.

Do NOT be honest on the surveys. First of all they are not confidential because they know what you do, where you do it and who you report to. The surveys are used to weed out the Alphas who will make the "culling" process more difficult. They want complacent cattle who will continue to yield mill until they send them to the slaughterhouse.

Lets have another town hall and survey so we can see what employees think of our efforts.

Anything tied to an IBMers ID is all BS pandering BS and anyone with a brain would know this.

Look at that list, and yet, the revenue keeps shrinking. Good job Ginni.

Some of those acquisitions are completely baffling. I still don't know what the point of acquiring The Weather Company was.

Why would you stay at that garbage company anyway? It's a job seeker's market. Get out there!

I think it also depends on your size and nature of your business...

IBM has acquired about 200 companies (see the list below) in last ten years, many of them had zero layoffs, some have been completely eliminated...

So really, it takes time for things to play out and you may not be affected at all:
