Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Denied - Ask for a raise?

If I was so valuable to the company that I was denied, am I justified in asking for a raise?

Any other denied's doing this?

I contacted my HRBP regarding an appeal and was offered a 20% increase.

while I find this thread highly amusing, it is probable that there will now be some promotional opportunities for those who remain. 20% increases are NOT going to happen though. Most would be under 5%. Not sure living through the "transformation" to come would be worth it.

So you got denied on Monday and have already received a 20% raise. Come on don't be an A--hole your whole life.

Haha 20% is full of it. You’ll be lucky to get 3% which is the norm.

Clearly, not Verizon employees here. Everyone knows you are only eligible for a raise after appraisals aRe done. And you are not ever given what you ask for, you get a very small percentage based on your performance.

Can't hurt to ask but I doubt you'll get squat. 20% - you're full of S--t

I was denied and that's exactly what I did. Got a 20% increase! You only get what you demand.
