Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Are layoffs happening tomorrow?

Please tell me that rumor has been proven wrong? I can't take much more of this...

I have heard around 500 people. Unknown if just Rochester, US, or global. The rooms in 335 are booked for HR tomorrow. If you have a 1 on 1 with your boss appear for tomorrow AM chances are it’s bad news, especially if they schedule it after hours today. That’s generally the guidance HR gives for this process. Signs of more consolidation to come as they are cleaning up cube areas (calling it the year end purge wtf?!) and in 111 we got notification of moves as I assume they are looking to consolidate space and buildings

Any idea which departments might be hit? I'm a reporter with the D&C...Xerox PR is unsurprisingly stonewalling us when we ask about layoffs. Everything I see or hear here is off the record unless specified by a source, but if anyone is willing to give me some off-the-record info to help inform a potential story tomorrow, we'd be grateful!

I'm in Building 0111 and I just got a 1:1 meeting request with my manager for 9 am. I NEVER have a meeting that early with him. Ever. So I'm spending today loading up my backup drive and deleting stuff and basically taking home pictures to make tomorrow easier. Bless us all in our new journeys.

Lots of clues Thursday will be the day. The 'boss' is flying into town and that was an unscheduled trip, reason for visit is 'meetings'. I did see in Outlook that in my building that HR blocked a conference room too for all day Thursday.

It feels like being on 'death row' - not a good motivator - this has to stop. Everyone I talk to is preoccupied and anxious (you must be too if you are on this site). Other than catch phrases and words I am not clear on the real roll-up-your-sleeves and get working strategy for future success (like days of old). Feels like a pattern without any real plan from management - our future is just - cut, cut, cut, until we are all gone.

Yes. As stated in other threads conference rooms are booked by HR in several buildings. I've heard reports of people getting their 1:1 notifications for tomorrow so they've either started going out or there are some clueless managers who don't realize how bad it is to schedule a 1:1 on layoff day.
