Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

New Commision Structure Holiday Rant.

This post will be NSFW.

I’m a front lines employee. After this year’s commision debacle I have a few things to say. I have no hope of this post having any meaning to higher ups in the company or management at any level. I only want to put it here so hopefully they will read it and think to themselves, wow we really f---ed some employees.

I am finishing this year down $15k gross and 8k net. Same number as 2017. Eight thousand dollars. Yes I know there is a pay check and commission left to be paid this year, I have factored it in. Eight thousand take home dollars. And for what purpose? A 5 billion loss on AOL and yahoo? Hum being a joke? How about the amazing product that is One Talk? 8 THOUSAND DOLLARS.

Some on here say they make more money, or only reps that slam accounts lost money. Blah blah blah. I’m neither. I go to work. Work hard. Do the managers work who mainly sits in the office and micro manages or talks to the kids. 8 thousand dollars down.

All micro management. I do not give 1 f--- about 6 pillars of sh-- or whatever it’s called. I care about working hard, doing right by customer, and being paid.

My bad the 6 pillars of micromanagement. F--- whoever came up with that and the commission structure. No commission to save on the 40% tax would have to be better.

No Christmas this year for myself or my family. But hey Christmas is in your hearts, right?

New Year. Next job. Thanks VZW. I hope more hard working people like myself move on after this a-- raping of a year you have bestowed upon me.

@2ksy, let me get this straight.

You supposedly worked at AT&T, you hated the pay structure. So what did you do. You sought out an identical environment as your go to choice of a new career, and then complain. Man, you can’t fix stupid with some people. And you label others “dickbag”, dickbag?

Well d--k bag, ATT as union and the Union DOES NOTHING to help set commission targets. When I worked for them the Union did nothing for the wireless people, they were happy to take my money from every paycheck, yet did nothing to help anyone get quotas lowered.

What would else would you expect? Without a clearly stated pay structure such as that within an employment contract the company can change things on a whim and will always do what is best for itself.

“. I wasn’t looking for anything. I just stated my truth.” - Broke Bob

You’re kidding, right? What do you mean you’re not “looking for anything”? Re-read your own posts Bob.

“...I only want to put it here so hopefully they will read it and think to themselves, wow we really f---ed some employees...No Christmas this year for myself or my family. But hey Christmas is in your hearts, right?...I hope more hard working people like myself move on after this a-- raping of a year you have bestowed upon me.”

Seems to me, you are looking for a number of things.

1) Attention from higher ups.

2) Pity

3) A better Christmas.

4) A change in commission policy from those in charge.

Really, Bob. You still want to stick with your, “I wasn’t looking for anything. ”, BS, when your own words prove otherwise?

Fair enough no goose. So tell us ole wise one how much money did you lose before you gave up?

Did you give up anything? Did you ever even like your job? Or do you just troll comments. I’m actually down $8k. Maybe I am dumb, retail been dying slow death, but hard to just walk from something you enjoyed at one time. Maybe not for you. So go on give me your next comment. I wasn’t looking for anything. I just stated my truth. So happens I guess other people are down a lot too.

And good god if your going to to use a Christmas movie use Bad Santa at least.

OP and @1stl, if your wives stopped doing everything they used to do for you, replaced talking to you and favored texting as the primary means of communication, asked you to please sleep on the couch...

would you be equally puzzled, or would you instead recognize the painfully obvious?

C’mon, you’re almost there.

Connect the dots.

The realization of the truth will set you free.

OP, stop begging for pity (i.e., ...No Christmas this year for myself and my family. But hey Christmas is in your hearts, right?...)

BooHoo. Cry me a river. If your family has no Christmas, that’s do to your refusal to believe that Captain Obvious really exists. Quit yer belly-aching, man up, and do something for your family and yourself, something other than your melodramatic woe is me campaign, your lame attempt to tug on heartstrings.

I sincerely doubt your pitiful pitch to some individuals is going to change your lot, or that there’s much of a chance of their seeing three ghosts by the time the clock strikes three, and taking pity upon you, thereby saving Christmas.

But, one can hope for such a Christmas miracle.

On another note, here’s a story I’m working on. “Retail was dead: to begin with. There is no doubt whatever about that...”

How do you think it’s gonna end?

Spoiler alert! No goose for you!

Broke Bob,

You don’t take a hint, do you?

I also hope Tiny Tim is on the mend, and that an unexpected benefactor provides the largest Christmas goose, and all the figgy pudding, that the Cratchit clan could ever hope for.

Should that not work out OP, are there no prisons? And, the Union workhouses, are they still in operation?

The last two years I have made a lot less. Do a lot of the managers work while the GM doesn’t even know how to check stuff in and is on the phone all day. Used to be the commission was worth the BS but not enough now.

Quotas are so high everyone is making a lot less.

Is that you, Bob Cratchit? How is the young master Tiny Tim doing these days?

OP, you say you have “no hope” of your “post having any meaning to higher ups...”, then say, “hopefully they will read it and think to themselves...”

That doesn’t even make any sense. Ever here of a non sequitur?

Everyone has a TV too, what happens when you need a new TV? You look for the best deal, which is by far not Verizon, I'll deal with a few dropped calls a month to save $80 every month. Verizon needs to open their eyes. For most people it's all about the price.

When the cheese is gone, find new cheese. Everyone has a cell phone already. VZ management figured it out, and at least gave people a choice with a nice bit of cash to send them on their way. The next round of people might not have that little parting gift. Verizon media will probably get dropped with so much as a thanks for coming.

Amen, I've made less money every year for the last 4 years, sell more make less, work more make less, take on the rolls of all the people that had their jobs cut, make less. This company has broken the morale of everyone in my store, managers are even looking to leave. The new commission is the last straw, everyone in my store is making at least $1000 a month less. The only thing keeping most of the reps here was the money, that's the only thing that made the horrid stress, micromanaging, dealing with out of touch d--k head Dms and lazy entitled customers worth while, not to mention ZERO work life balance. Way to go Verizon execs !
