Overnight didn’t lose differential due to some DC changing hours. But last night for overnight is Jan 4 on those clubs. If people call off excessively or quit, they lose Sams Share and severance if they are coached out.

Guess your down south "every associate had to sign to be sales associates and lost the extra .50 " Northern associates get 1.50 extra for overnights and we didn't lose it cause of the change.

Strategic Moves by HO - Reduce backroom 1st to get rid of long termers as they knew with their next move there would be more daytime support with the overnight shift change & no Reducing of those associates. Overnight ends 1/04 for our market 01/05 starts new shifts of 4a-12:30p & 3p-11:30p for the overnight team split in 1/2. The split was based on seniority & they kept their differential. They were offered severance too. There was no help in securing positions for those reduced from the backroom & not surprisingly at all because they just saved a ton of payroll for those ginormous paychecks we got NOT. Do away with those in the market is what u should have done since all they do is find ways to justify their jobs & make over 6 figures. Funny when u sit in on a conference call from a fresh DC about the new changes & they go thru every club 1 by 1 to see how many lift drivers they have & how many associates left. This was a waste of payroll it could have been done via email & it goes on all the time this is why people just lost their jobs & at Christmas time

So with the new shifts do you get to pick which one you are on or does it rotate? One week your mornings, next week your afternoons?

When does this start

Every overnight associate had to sign new job offers as “sales associates” and lost the extra 50 cents. No grandfather clause. Just a bunch of long term people that have to re budget their lives with less money.

Surprisingly they didn't take away shift deferential , but new hires don't get it.

Of course they take away your shift premium. That's what this company is all about now. Giving our money back to HO.

It's a slow rollout to the entire company, all depends on which DC is aligned to your club.

There is a handful of groups that check this page:

  1. Associates in specialized areas (CO, PTC, Claims, Clerk, Rec TL,) - who understand their roles have been greatly diminished through technology and are no longer "specialized".

  2. Managers - after Project Pretzel, I would say 60% of the managers check this site once every few weeks. That number greatly spiked after the "rankings" layoff in Jan 2018.

  3. Home Office associates (no, sorry to bust your bubble, JF, GR, AB, JI are not reading this site), who are worried about their role no longer needed (also usually because of technology).

That is probably why you have not heard from those clubs, because those associates more than likely have never heard of this site.

I'll also mention the amount of NDA's that get signed by everyone involved with knowledge of private information. Typically issued to level 85's and above at the home office, these associates are not going to jeopardize their lives to share confidential information. So you're not going to hear about the next position to be eliminated or the clubs to be closed (unless a third party security firm breaks the news again).

seems to me that if there are really 168 clubs doing it already we would hear about it here. Someone from those clubs would be on here giving a report as to what is going on.

From what I have been told - 168 clubs have started it - you have a team lead (supervisor) at 3 pm plus a crew come in - they work with members, if the Walmart truck arrives they unload it and stage it - they start working hots right away - the club closes - they start running the freight to the floor - they drop what needs to be stocked - work until 11 pm - you will see paper trucks (mclane and freezer cooler arrive before 11) - what did not get stocked the 4 am team with a teamed (supervisor) plus a manager takes care of - they unload the fresh trucks and other trucks. Day crew receiving finishes what is left to be unloaded.

Our club hasn’t replace our overnight lead that left a few months ago. Maybe they are doing away with overnight lead?
