People seem to be saying one was laid off here, five there... All small numbers. Does that mean that this was one of Xerox's smaller rounds? Or have there been more layoffs we are not hearing about here?
It'd also be good to know if this will continue tomorrow or if they plan to wrap it up today. Any info on that?

How would I get in touch with laid off Xerox employees to offer free assistance? My company does personnel training and we are freeing up some budget to help out people laid off just before the holidays as a goodwill gesture. Is there an outplacement agency assisting affected employees?

Xerox Corp. commenced a layoff Thursday that appeared to hit an unspecified number of employees in the company’s management ranks.
Some management personnel learned of the layoff earlier Thursday morning, said Gary Bonadonna of the Rochester Regional Joint Board, an umbrella organization that represents multiple local union shops, including Xerox’s Local 14A.
The layoff didn’t affect union-represented employees, which include manufacturing and production workers, he said.
The number of affected employees is unclear. A Xerox representative has not responded to requests for comment.
News reports say 800 worldwide, 200 in Webster.
