Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Is Xerox really to blame?

Been watching these posts for months. Cant help but notice most are added during the workday.

Im assuming its this between Facebook posts.

Is Xerox really totally to blame? How many "work" from home? How many jogged at lunch for years, and had time to shower before returning.

mo--n.

I was employed by Xerox for over 3 decades and was always the top performer. When I worked from home, I surpassed my own strict goals. I wanted no one to question whether I was working. My coworkers worked hard as well.

Perhaps you are describing your own workday activities?!!

I left after 20 years. There are jobs out there - pull yourself out and get real. Sick of hearing about how scared you all are for past 10 years it's pathetic. No one cares, get another job.

Sure GREED is only “fat cats” not people “milking it for as long as they can”.

Plenty of blame to go around.

Xerox is a dying legacy company with legacy products. Most people are just here to milk it for as long as they can while the delusional management hired by the clueless board mismanage the cash flow into nonexistence due to their complete lack of vision.

Always amazed how they cut the people at the lower level but keep the mid-level managers making 6 figure salaries who have not interfaced directly with a customer in the market place in decades or at all in their entire career.

If you are fortunate enough to retire or bridge to retirement good for you! If not (like myself) do yourself a favor and get your resume and LinkedIn info together and start looking. The severance package is longer worth sticking around for any longer.

I can echo what @WBoTwQ3-quk posted. The times I worked from home, it was for conf calls at 6AM since I'm on the West coast and no one in Rochester/Webster seems to think there's any other time zone than Eastern. :)

When I'm in the office I try and get out for lunch, but when working from home I always just work through it. And then another hour or so after the kids are in bed. And I can't tell you how many meetings I've participated in and work I've done while out on vacation.

The main problem Xerox has had wasn't it's employees. It was senior management.

I can't speak for all people who "Work from Home" but I worked my butt off for this company from "Home" before being let go in August. I started most days before anyone was in the office, often worked through lunch and then into the evening. When I was let go I was considered a top performer so these cuts have nothing to do with Employees dedication or abilities...it is all about the $$$$. This management has no appreciation for dedication and hard work.

Yes, Xerox management is to blame. Employees enjoying a good work-life balance is not the cause. You must be an old person, not worthy of life or liberty.
