Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

LR'ed and rehired and do not like the new role can i still get the Severence if i quit ?

My entire team was let go in November. I was hired into another team but with no hike or grade change. Honestly, the recruiter just exploited my situation and not to mention the recruitment process in itself a nightmare at Cisco. I am not liking the new role. Can I just quit and still get the severance package?

no - you missed the boat if you're in the US. should've grabbed that cash + PTO :-) Thats what I did. I had enough of always having to worry about layoffs. Very unhealthy morale.

good luck!

It depends on which country. I believe that in the UK you can get a trial period in the new position and still be LR'ed if it is not a match.

Please check with an employment lawyer / union rep for the correct rule where you live.

Alternatively spend the next 6 months polishing your skills ready for the next LR.
