Bring it on!!!!
My club was told a year out due to vendors or some c-ap. Personally I think it’s BS. Some of the vendors have already heard that we were changing receiving hours but or GM told Fed us this story. Sounds fishy if you ask me.
Was told February as well because they are changing severance rules after fiscal year ends and new one starts February 1st.
February 9
Yes my club got rid of receiving like a month ago but not sure if we are losing night shift if so then a lot of people are going there is a reason people chose the shift for not everyone can work those shifts and it will be harder to work those two shifts so I guess I will wait cause no one really knows until the meeting takes place and they decide so I’m hoping nothing happens but that is all
My CM said all clubs will go to this by April. My night crew has been warned that it is coming so they can see how many will stay or how many they need to hire.
It is coming but I doubt anytime this month. February looks more accurate
January 4th and night crew still has the same shift. Great "insider" info here. This site is basically The Onion. You should only be checking this site for entertainment purposes people.
Ok, its the 4th now......still nothing....
For the clubs that know when were you told? I'm on nights and we yet have been told. I would like to know so I can plan ahead.
Jan. 4th? Is that when everyone learns of this company wide???
@wjg They don't at my club.
@hao night crew get 40 hrs a week already. That part wouldn't change. Anyone getting 40 hrs a week knows they have to watch their hours and cut time.
4 am to 12:30 or 3 to 11:30 would be an 8-hour shift minus lunch. Anyone who worked five days a week would get 40 hours, and if they stayed over any at all, they'd get overtime. The company would never allow that. There may be some truth to some of this, and they probably will get rid of night crew eventually, but these shifts you're proposing can't possibly be true. That casts everything else you've said into doubt. But we'll see next week.
Oh its true. It's damn true.
Wow
We are a club that has been testing out not having nightcrew. So far only 20 clubs are testing it out. It has not been working at all& during the holiday days they went back to nights but right after Christmas they are going back to a 4am-1230pm and amother shift is 3pm-1130pm
That is funny because we lost our Overnight manager and the team lead quit and we are short at least four people the GM said he was in no rush to replace and not hiring any merchandisers until after the first of the year.
January 4th eh? Well the guy they just hired as our new Overnight Manager will not be amused. But Im not buying it for one second. I have heard no rumblings about this at my club at all.
Besides why would they have hired someone when they are just going to do away with the position. Seems like a waste of time
I don't know what to believe on this topic. Guess we will see come the 4th
@WDJRh2o-1gli why do you say Electronics lead and Night lead will be gone in Feb ? I think your speculating.
Why do you need it spelled out over and over and over??? Sam's club does not care who is who!!! I've heard that the night manager is going to be gone also. It does not matter if they are great or if they aren't. They're gone! Sam's does not care about who someone is! Learn that!
boring recycled fake news
Why should the night Mgr lose there job . Some of the best Mgrs are on nights . They should all be interviewed for the positions left
Yes its true night manager will no longer have a job its the manager who will be cut this year. Night lead will be moved to the day shift if they choose but will no longer be a supervisor. One of the da6 team leads will be out as well. Restructuring is right around the corner night lead and electronics lead will be gone by February 1st
Not fake news folks - already happened with clubs attached to the Fresh DC in Pottsville PA as the person above mentioned. It will roll out fresh dc by fresh dc u may not be affected yet but it will come. There are clubs losing people 9 in 1 club who worked overnight as they could not work the day or afternoon shift. Call some of the clubs in NJ, PA, Dover Delaware & a couple of clubs in Maryland oh wait good luck calling as many of the daytime receiving & claims associates grabbed their life vests & jumped ship with their severance while these are still available.
My club has said day receiving is coming soon. GM said they are changing it over DC. He said all clubs will be done by 1st quarter. They have already told night crew and trying to see who can work different hours.
Sadly a lot of our folks will have to leave. They work nights for a reason. We already struggle to get people to hired.
I have learned on this sight a lot of this stuff seems like it will never happen but it seems to come true just not it most of the posts time frame.
It has already rolled out in some clubs.. day receiving clubs already have done this. Whether or not they actually roll it out to night receiving clubs is anyone's guess. If so there will be mixed results to put it nicely.
They have been conditioning day associates to stock during the day at our club as well, the freight comes in and day crew suppose to stock out when it arrives, sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.
I am a former Receiving Office Clerk that just got laid off on December 7th. About 18 months ago, we had a high shrink review. They sent people from our state, but not our city. They were testing this new night crew schedule at their club back then. It would not surprise me in the least if that progtam was rolled out company wide!
This will be happening at Walmart as well.
yeah, they always make announcements on Saturdays. and during events. Dumb post
It’s true for any clubs serviced by the Pottsville PA DC. You know nothing John Snow....
This has been a known rumor for over a year. Just like the backroom/receiving change. I'd put money on this being true.
They've been conditioning the day associates to stock throughout the day for some time already.
Not going to happen. No way. I won’t let it happen!
the change in hours would be nice but the logistics will be terrible as far as receiving freight and running it goes....
Fake news
Our Club already knows of this change
There has not been a single word about this.
