Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Welcomed quiet (even if it is before the storm?)

With Christmas next week and no layoffs last week (or two, can't recall if there were any the previous one,) is it safe to say that we can finally relax and celebrate in peace?

I've been so stressed out this whole year that it would be nice to let go at least for its end. Especially since we all know we are looking at a lot of the same next year.

Stock down, now in the $45 range.

FWIW, Oracle's stock rose in after hours trading, unlike the previous few quarters.

Oracle’s performance is terrible, the ridiculous “cloud” numbers they reported confirm this. Dev ops is an unmitigated mess after too many years of being mismanaged by a combination of TK and LE and sales is bring continuously decimated by MH. Nowhere to hide al oracle. Everybody is being led to slaughter. Run away as fast as you can

"The plain truth is that you can’t ever really relax if you are working in the US."

This. All it takes are few mediocre quarters and an employer formerly ranked in the "best places to work" lists becomes a layoff factory. HP used to be one of those "great places to work", now it's one of the worse.

The plain truth is that you can’t ever really relax if you are working in the US. At any job. Try a vigilant relaxation. You know what they say about the calm before the storm.

It's the 21st century. Why do we still celebrate Christmas anyways. Christ seems like an uptight guy, and God is a straight up a--. Genocide via flood because mankind likes a little s-x and war? Now Thor, that guy seems cool. We should have Thorsmas. He can bring Captain America and Black Widow too.
