Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Greed or Mismanagement

Why are automakers booking billions in North American profits on fatter profit margins acting like companies desperately managing an imminent recession? And how can they justify the actions when two of Detroit’s three automakers owe their survival to U.S. taxpayers amid the global financial meltdown? It's called greed and mismanagement. Ms Mary is not the right person in the job. She is acting like a woman who does not take risks or management a business based on demands.

Mary has elevated to the head of GM only to survive the GM recall scandal. They needed a soft face, and an apologetic heart to respond to the public. That was her sole calling. She didn't break any glass ceiling in skill, only in gender. When on the inside, she promoted gender, as it was on the Socrates site often enough to make you question whether they promotion was based solely upon gender, or experience. This was seen quite clearly, by the lack of male counterpart promotions.

Mark Reuss was the most logical and qualified to take on GM CEO status, but he would not have weathered the GM recall scandal. They needed a woman to take the fall, someone whom they could connect to. Now that Mary has to actually perform in a functionally capacity, she is starting to fail, and identify her shortcomings.

Mary's legacy, will be claiming that they need to cut sedans because they are unprofitable. Sedans, EVs, are slated to launch in the next few years, in a time where NO ONE wants sedans, and everyone wants trucks and suvs. Where is the logic? AV's, are a pipe dream, as they can't even get dry conditions right.

Mary is known, for tremendous layoffs in a time of yearly growth. The story will write itself. She may very well, become the greatest failure that GM has ever known. I look forward to that story.

However, in the end, do you ever think a multi-millionaire such as herself, would ever care about you or I, or whether she ran the company into the ground or not? Her salary, is guaranteed.

You might want to read a fable called the Grasshopper and the Ant. It seems to have been written especially for you.
