Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Full time hours

What are full time hours now?? No one in my club seems to have the same answer! I thought as a full time associate you were guaranteed a minimum of 34 hours (or was it 36?) There are some in my club that were given 20 hours for the week of New Year's. People cant survive on this...

34 is considered full time with the exceptions noted below for long term associates. Just remember if you average less that 34 hours per week over a twelve week period they can make you part time.

It's just another stunt they're pulling in order to get people to quit. They are going to jack with our hours knowing we can't make a living. Bunch of F-tards

Keep in mind that a FT status does not ensure you get a certain number of hours weekly. The minimum hours listed here and on the WIRE are the minimum hours you can work over a 12 week period (average) and still maintain a FT status.

PTO is automatically given if club is closed if not closed you have to submit it in the system. 3 days per year it is automatically put it system for you if you have the PTO hours.

Dont forget you will be paid holiday pay for New Years day as well which will not reflect until that day. I know your week will still be short. Some of our associates was told 32 hours was FT this came from management, I'm sure all in due time they will be reducing hours.

Thanks for the info! Like I said, no one here gives a straight answer to anything. It's like the Hunger Games here!

Hearing whispers of implementation of core hours=20, then you work somewhere else in the club to fill the rest of your full time hours. Not saying it’s happening but it is a working model.

It probably hasn't been adjusted yet. Too far out. But if it stays that way, I would just work extra. If I'm scheduled for 4 hrs I'll stay at least 6 or 8. Ask which areas need help and come in on a day off if they have a lot. I would make sure I got at least 34-36 hrs if not my full 40. Screw Sam's. It's about MY family, not the Walton's.

Probably just a schedule that was not finalized, busy time of year. If you want the real answer go ask your manager or the CM.
