Wow, one year later and it looks like this all went away. I'm not sure how well that certain agency is doing these days. I heard they moved out of their big office and maybe had some layoffs of their own?

I think there needs to be a new thread made. And also post that new thread link here.

Has Nike sent out formal communication not to use the agency in question? Has Nike sent out formal communication not to use MM’s new company? Someone commented that “we should reevaluate using them” if the FBI rumors are true. As a stockholder, I’d like to see this taken a bit more seriously.

A few people saw MM in NC last weekend at all stars passing out business cards for a new agency!! Brass balls?

I also heard that the offices of ask and set were raided last Friday morning by the fbi. Can this be confirmed please? If this is true then we need to reassess relation with them now. This is crazy.

Rumor has it that there was an FBI raid at the creative agency in question. Is this true?

Going on record is tricky. Nike is famous for its grudges. I don’t know how ST or EA stay out of jail. Rumor is this is with the feds and they aim to fully prosecute.

A Jeff Manning article would be an interesting piece. This situation a blaring example of how Nike wasted millions, allowed behaviors that were morally bankrupt at best and criminal as the likely scenario. Meanwhile thousands of well meaning hard working employees let go. Many of these folks deemed too old to be worth the long term investment. Some of them also whistleblowers.

And by reading accounts on here, the local creative agency sold out to WPP and the Nike Mohawk man funneled product and funds through it.

Look for something by Jeff Manning of the Oregonian. And if you have information for him to include in his piece, contact him.

This is a long thread though and someone is in big trouble.

I hope there is justice.

A mid level Microsoft employee is going to prison for similar activities. The difference is that their executives didn’t turn a blind eye and allow it to happen.

Not the first time something like this has happened. At the distribution centers there have been a few abuses by senior leadership taking or have someone take product. They were let go but Nike never prosecuted and of course Nike does not say why they were let go when another company calls them. They soon become employed at other companies because having worked at Nike looks good on the resume. I agree with where were the internal and external auditors?

It hasn't come out in the press yet nobody will go on record as a credible source.

Sad to see that it will all ride off into the sunset unchecked

“Where was procurement”? Where was anybody? Corporate audit? Legal? Risk management? Marketing operations? Finance? Everyone failed. Every one failed is and the people that were laid off while this sh#t show went on for years in plain view.

Has this come out in the press yet?

Just unfortunate so many people were treated so poorly in the process.

The greed and financial deception is one thing, but the tolerance of abuse toward the surrounding hard working ( younger in their career employees ) will have long lasting impacts on future Nike / vendor interactions.

Where was procurement in all this?

If a creative agency overbills intentionally by 40-45% for ten years and is buying condos and range rovers for the guy funneling the work and the executives know about the over billing, then there won’t be a big scene out of this. Other than the firing of the golum, and the removal of the formerly Cankles owned agency from the roster.

This is a prime example of Nike losing its way. Thousands of layoffs yet a knowing blind eye turned towards huge cost overruns and verbal and physical abuse of employees. The FOT stuff goes way beyond just those that have been fired. They changed the culture. It will take years for us to ever see that again, if ever.

Nike is a cult of personality and bullying and lying to get ahead company now. Whatever Bill and Phil set out to make it, this ain’t it.

Once upon a time two small witches, Gollum and Cankles, decided to steal from the Wizard. They were bold, aggressive and unsupervised. They took millions of semolians from the Wizard, but he hid behind the curtain; turned a blind eye. These witches used magic dust to make the Wizard’s European mafia look good; as though all was well in The Emerald City.

Many of the good citizens of The Emerald City (not Seattle) pointed out that Gollum and Cankles we’re stealing semolians like crazy and they were abusing the citizens of The Emerald City every single day. There were complaints internally, externally, frequently, and presented to the sub-Wizard himself!

The Wizard’s underlings we’re embarrassed at this talk and furious that anyone could see through the European mafia’s naked self-importance.

The citizens were punished . “You’re old, you’re fired, here’s a c-appy job, you embarrassed the Wizard’s council.”. They did not care about the semolians, nor the abuse to the citizens of The Emerald City. The European Mafia did not care that Gollum and Cankles abused the citizens of The Emerald City at every turn. Nor did they care that they stole from the Wizard.

They cared about their feathers, their $800 jeans, their $15,000 fancy army watch, about how attractive they were to the Wizard.

So, Cankles and Gollum found themselves in a perfect position to make the Wizard shine while milking the Emerald Citty of millions of semollions.

Gollum sent hundreds of millions of semolians through Cankles network. Somehow Gollum came out of his cave and owned many condo’s and his brother sprouted a new company working on Wizard projects at huge mark up.

It was said that Gollum diverted a lot of The Wizard’s product to miscellaneous warehouses. Hmm. Who knows, but where are all of those ruby slippers, maybe Kansas?

I think the deleted posts are a result of people using the names of the accused perpetrators. Also a lot of mean spiritiness happening with the Nike guy being called Golum and the agency lady being called Cankles. If people could stop that kind of replies then the posts wouldn’t be deleted I bet.

Why has this egregious series of events been swept under the rug & deleted from sight over & over? Is anyone interested in bringing these thieves to justice?

Here is the skinny: MM got fired, rumors are that he was channeling work to his brother's (MMB) agency. The rumor also has it that MM was a silent partner @ MMB's agency.

Also, many reported that MM was verbally abusive towards his peers and, given this, many have been very happy to see MM depart Nike. Actually, many have been hurt so much that a few have reached Schadenfreude Level 100 this week and thoroughly enjoy constant updates here on TLO regarding MM's misfortunes.

There are 100s of posts on the site - they nuke threads that have threats or personal info. Not sure that I'd want people dragging my name and address on a site like this. That aside, the Mohawk Man (MM) is in trouble...
