Sam's Club is dying a slow death. It won't be around soon you'll see. Good companies like Amazon and Costco that care about their employees will put them out of business. I left my job at Sam's Club and I couldn't be happier and I am also in a union now. Not gonna trash the place I worked for almost 15 years but the grass is greener for me I am much more happy and wayyyyyyyyy more less stressed out.

Theres not going to be 25 new clubs opening like the one in Dallas they said that basically that wil be the only one and from what they learn from that club will be brought into our clubs. More jobs will be cut and less member service. As far as Sams being better than Costco in 3 years thats a joke. Costco seems to treat there employees much better and in return the employees want to do a better job for there members. Sams has p-ss-d off so many no one cares about anything anymore especially the member. Ive never seen so many people call in on a daily basis and continue to get away with it but when it takes a month to get someone replaced I kinda see why its tolerated.

I have been here for 18 months and I would care about my job if I made $20 plus an hour like some of you do.

@rbh that's hogwash. As a long time associate I work my butt off for this place, and see the same from many others. There will always be spoiled brats, but that is not this company's problem. The problem is management. They and HO are ripping this place to shreds. I think you know that. Just someone in and upper level position trying to deflect.

The truth is people don't want to work as hard as we do. This generation wants everything given to them. As parents we are partially to blame for that as well. This is why people don't last at their jobs, and why turn over is so high at club levels. Times have changed and we are just collateral damage. I am grateful for what this company has done for me and will continue to do my best as always.

@pfr I seriously doubt that! I've been at my new job for almost a year now. Our boss orders supplies from mostly Costco. Sometimes he asks if things at Sam's are a better price and yada yada. The other employees don't know I use to work there. All we hear is laughter and how if you shop at Sam's then you probably live in the ghetto. That's how the place is known around America. Ask your business members, they'll tell you they only shop at Sam's because the lines aren't as long as Costco. They come to Sam's to get away from the Costco crowds. It is not because it's a great place. It will continue to go down from there.

Sam’s Club will be bigger and more successful than Costco in less than 3 years from now. Just watch and see!

Store formats time and go. Remember Hypermarts? Remember Walmart Neighborhoods? Walmart throws a lot of stuff against the wall and sees what sticks. Even Target used to be called Dayton Hudson, and both Dayton's and Hudson's are long gone.

@dnc that's big talk from someone who's going to be out of a job soon. Changing with the times is one thing. The Walton's are doing more than that. If you don't see it then that's on you. Don't brag about 25 stores opening. They closed over 60, and the new ones opening are almost self sufficient. Sam's is gone. Time to realize that.

How do you say that? Huge increases all year. At least 25 new clubs opening next year. All new innovations coming. Yes there is change and unfortunately layoffs and positions changes. But almost every single company does this. I cant get over how all people do is complain and bash this company. I get it. It s---s when you lose your spot. I was an audit lead. Then I went to cash office. Now I'm an Overnight TL. I know things changes. But, I still have a paycheck. Still have stock. Still have 401k. Still have benefits. And my club is super maxing on Sam's share. I'm not a huge supporter for this company. But at least I dont b--ch and complain and cry. I just keep moving. That's all you can do...
