Trending to make less?

Is anyone making a decent commission this month?

Is anyone getting talked to non-stop about insurance adds and district managers threatening to write employees up because of not hitting insurance targets?

What are you making as we approach year end? I'm trending for $14k less then last year

I think this is the companies way to get people out the door, if the pay goes away so will the people. They will never lay off one commissioned sales person, manager or DM, they will force us out, stores will slowly close and commission will be a thing of the past. New reps don't see it as much as the tenured, but even they are starting to see it, after working here long enough to be off ramp up for a couple months most new reps bail. They are not making the money they were told they would, the job is not what they were told it would be, they are micromanaged to death and even if you can see past all these things, you have no life because of the c-appy hours. My whole district is short staffed, has been, and NOBODY is applying for the open positions, a couple stores are running on 3 people. Writing is on the wall people, as I tell my sms and sales people, polish up the resume and always be looking for something better.

I left vzw in October after 6 years and haven't looked back. The grass is greener I read these posts about all the number bs and that sh-- stresses me out just thinking back. So relaxed 8-4pm weekends off. Do yourself a favor and get that resume updated and get out there and apply yourself, you'll be so much happier. I drink only on occasion now and my young marriage is much healthier.

Is anyone making a decent commission this month?

---Not in our district. Most stores have specialists averaging 80% to growth on scorecard; Even if they're trending 100% growth the renewals and/or sales buckets are nowhere near target and thus commissions are decelerating.

Is anyone getting talked to non-stop about insurance adds and district managers threatening to write employees up because of not hitting insurance targets?

---We are required to make calls and/or track our targets daily depending on our performance. Basically our commitments for the month per store ended up being TMP / HUM - Pull Through % regardless of the personal input from the rep.

What are you making as we approach year end? I'm trending for $14k less then last year

---Since the commission change not a single rep that we've spoken to during district meetings or store visits has given us positive input from the commission changes. Most people are making base commission and the higher output reps actually lost about $1400 per paycheck when you tally the pre and post structure adjustments. Looking at December last year our output for phones + pull through counting towards New/Renew people were making at least 1.3 to 1.4 multiplier; This year, average sales rep is making around $800 (max $1292) because they're hitting phone target minimums but not sales bucket, or they're making sales bucket but not enough to multiply the minimums above a 1.0 due to not reaching their phone quota.

@rdf, if you have been here 9 years you would know tmp has only been around a few years, before that we called it insurance.

Hey, anyone can become a shareholder. Better to be an owner than union. Well, if the dumb--s execs weren't pissing it on things like Yahoo and AOL. But it would be even stupider for them to piss it on union contracts.

The proof is in the contract you don't have.

Unions are sleazeballs with their own agenda. At least we know where the execs stand and who their bosses are, even if they don't serve our interests either.

I am not union, but you nailed it! You are being sold a bill of goods in order to keep you from joining a union, folks. The company doesn't want to afford (notice I didn't say can't) the outstanding benefits and employment security a good union contract provides. Stop drinking the kool aid!!

Union dues are nothing next to the outstanding benefits and compensation they negotiate for us. I pay 20 weekly and clear 1k plus weekly. With OT, I made over 100k this year. I have a pension and a 401k. So go ahead and accept the crumbs they are so graciously throwing at you, you anti-union troll.

call it tmp. it gives you the chance to explain what it is. calling it insurance is like saying, hey do you want to spend more money per month? of course not! dont shoot yourself in the foot kid.

Probably a union troll. If they were being honest, the union troll would tell you that all union represented reps make less because they have to pay the union dues in order to negotiate a contract that provided the exact same sales comp plan as everyone else. So yeah, earning less by paying the worth-less union.

Are you actually an employee or a union troll? I’ve been in retail for 9 years and have never heard anyone use the term insurance. It’s called TMP.
