Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

A Radical Pivot?

TMG has gone from the most admired technology and manufacturing innovator for decades to total loss in a short decade.

The first indicators were all there once Sunlin and Youseff left, Bill was never at that level and when they gave the keys to Sohail it was all downhill. The big ship continued as all hand worked frantically as before but the game had changed, business had pivoted but the arrogance from CEO thru MCM was consumed with divisional fighting and BoD was a bunch of Andy Chronies with no clue to technology or Intel core assets.

Sorry I know Ann and Mike well, no chance of re-invention on their watch. Easy to fire, has anything really changed πŸ˜‰

Intel is more DEC like than IBM like and its fate will likely be similar.

TSMC has scale and every single fabless working with it for scale and $ and infrastructure co-development that Intel can’t match. Samsung has true IDM and scale to products and a culture Intel can’t match.

Lots of good talk last week, problem is the ship hit the iceberg. Perhaps a radical pivot can still save it, time will tell.

Where is the CEO, they really need one, not a bunch of Senior VP with a lot of talk. Hard to see how Bob with the new outsider can pivot the company

Sounds like a SA loyalist who is whining here. Probably one of the people that protected SA for so many years.

The regime of terror that SA imposed in PTD where everybody was a snitch in the name of IP and the PhDs would only last one year before getting burnt out was the end of TMG. A bunch of lame yes men and yes women in the HVM sites leading the seed teams would only spread this cancer to all the factories.

Honestly, I highly doubt any outsiders will play significant roles in near future. Let's see what happens but I doubt that we will be able to do any "radical" turns - it'll take many years and a lot of blood, sweat and tears to introduce so much needed paradigm shift...
