Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Anyone want to comment on Project M?

Nike has someone with the title Outsourcing Consultant on staff. Negotiations to outsource child care is in process. The gyms are next.

Amazing how quickly ES can destroy PHK’s company culture when you consider the context of the disaster that is Freestyle, HR scandals, and health care going to Keizer.

Company clearly sending a message they no longer give a damn about the black badge.

Outsourcing is the only way left for ES to point the finger at somebody else to blame for his track record of failed programs and transformations. MP's disinterest for Operations and Tech are the only reason he is still there and not ousted like the other Old Boys.

The Child Development Centers will be outsourced in Q1. It’s a done deal and the new vendor has been chosen.

The staff that has developed a relationship with your children and interact with them every day will be allowed to stay on through the transition, but then shown the door.

The gyms are next.

unlimited pto is a farse. employees already feel penalized if they take vacation time. a few days here or there is fine. out of pocket for 2-3 weeks, its a problem because of how nike operates. too lean for the volume of work and down time doesnt exist for a growth company. high probability sh-- goes wrong when youre in the office. increases exponentially if youre out especially if your manager is a spoon-fed id--t. add the usual nike hunger games and your screwed if you do and screwed if you dont. some employees accumulate pto to get it paid out when they get the ax.

i once managed an employee whose previous manager let them accumulate 500 pto hours on top of their sabbaticals. their manager didnt know or didnt care. unfair to the employee (whos also at fault) and sh-- business practice. wasted so much time and effort to create a lose-lose plan to bring it down. they moved onto a new manager and took every friday off and an entire month off in the same year as a 6 week sabbatical.

crazy that this sh-- happens at a top company.

Yes, plus don’t forget the pilot currently taking place of ‘unlimited’ PTO in EMEA. Great way to eliminate a massive liability off the books while at the same time relying upon peer pressure to take increasingly less vacation... sure you are historically eligible for 5 weeks, but if you take that you are obviously inconsistent and not a team player....
