How long has it been since we've had a month without layoffs? Unless I'm missing something, if this week ends with no RIFs, we'll get there for the first time in a while. And considering this is the Christmas week, I think we are good.
Oracle has me so messed up that instead of feeling relieved by this, it's making me nervous. I can't stop thinking that there'll be a major round in January to make up for all that they've "missed."
Another bloodbath is coming for what remains in Oracle Tape. Rumor has it ACSLS is being replaced with a functional 3rd party solution which has been proven here in California.
you have no clue about this business model, it's based on a pyramid scheme, the few at the top collect all the money and the bottom are not valued and replaced with other robotrons. we're all interchangeable cogs in the wheel. the expensive people will be let go and replaced with cheap millennials or indian based low wagers, it's been the plans for years and it's not changing in 2019.
on premise support is so bad that customers pay 3rd parties to provide support while they have oracle contracts - yes it's true and it's a commentary on how bad the company is run when customers will pay double just to avoid oracle. oracle is being sued for auto renewing support after customers notify they don't want it and are already moved to the cloud - being charged 300% more than they used topay.
Of course there will be layoffs come next calendar year, how could there not be? The business is cratering, Dev ops is a total mess and investors have publicly recognized and acknowledged that the only thing propping up the share prices are obscenely large and from a cash flow point of view unsustainable share buybacks. CRASH! And it’s only going to get worse because wily a declining share price -$44 at the latest - LE will start getting margin calls and will have to put up billions to hold on to his oracle shares.ouch!
