Amazon isn't going anywhere anytime soon unless Trumpty Dumpty gets a bug up his a-- and starts attacking them again for some unknown reason and finds a way to kill them.

So, Facebook or Oracle? Despite scandals, Facebook makes money off ad placement, right? Has that business been hurt in any way? Are young people really moving away from it? There's a whole world that's being turned onto the internet as technology expands so maybe western youth are moving onto the next fad, but Facebook will be right there to put ads in front of the eyes of the next set of eager up and coming consumers globally if they are smart. I am worried about them though. They are not like an Amazon that's into many things. They do basically one thing and even though that one thing has proven to be of value to the world, how long will it last.

Oracle. How much longer will Larry last? I wish him as long a life as possible and would never wish illness or death on anyone but can he please find someone suitable to lead the company technically into the future. Its a little late for that I guess. Oracle will continue on for many years. It has too much momentum. The databases are too hard to replace. The cloud stuff is really a commodity at this point and can be switched out to other vendors. The other parts of the tech stack have competition that is at least as good if not better. The database is still seen as high-end and should be focused on to remain at the top and where innovation must occur. Maybe it will shrink to a database company. There's really nothing wrong with that. Find your center and reset. Also, someone mentioned bad customer service. How can a company with so many people focused on customer service have bad customer service? It comes down to the products and to the structure. There are too many products across too broad a landscape. Trying to navigate all the product offerings is impossible. The products are overly complex. I'm not sure how we manage to make everything we create such mess. Even our UI's are sloppy. So the people trying to provide customer service are faced with a huge array of products that are difficult to use. On top of that, the people who are responsible for customer service seem to be spread far and wide through the company well beyond the customer service organizations - of which there are multiple as well. And yet, its almost impossible to find someone who can help a customer get up and running on a product. We have a lot people in front of the customer trying to sell them things but not enough who are actually trying to help them use it - and when I say actually trying, I don't mean yet another TAM, CAM, CSM, or three letter acronym of the day, calling Support telling them to work on the customer SR because they can't install the software or they can't use a feature or they hit a bug.

I think Facebook offers the world nothing but a billboard that people are willing to look at every day and that people are willing to provide personal information to every day to help companies sell them things. That's not really a long term benefit to society. Oracle and other tech companies built the world we have today at a foundational level and I believe they have more staying power in the long run.

Oracle first. Then Facebook. Amazon has the best long game right now.

Oracle - Larry doesn’t care what happens to the company after he dies and MH/SC combo will drive it into the ground. Customers hate Oracle and that’s due to poor customer service and horrible sales tactics.

Facebook - when the next huge social media fad hits, Facebook will die a slow painful death. Young people are already flocking away from it.

Amazon - so many different tentacles. Retail, tech, etc. that they’ll make money for a long time.

Narcissistic old man LE who could be Zuks grandpa is clearly determined to take oracle to the grave with him, so on that basis alone, oracle without any doubt or competition
