January is getting closer and there is still very little info about layoffs. Do we know anything new? Do we even know for sure there'll be layoffs in January?

ROC news, for one answer to your question see post above re: layoffs in international operations entitled "Any layoffs so far?"
"Layoffs Confirmed for January 10th" ?.. so is this a "news worthy" event for us to report on tomorrow?
Layoffs confirmed for Thursday Jan 10.
Fear mongering my a@@ just wait until you read on a list that you are being let go. Before you are officially notified. Merry f- ing Christmas. I bet Johnny V's family had a wonderful holiday.

No layoffs in January.
My guess is the strategy announcement in early February will give them "cover" to go public with the layoffs going forward. They will spin them as "realigning with the new strategy".
My fear is that the new strategy will enable or require much larger cuts than they have been doing. I think the cuts up to now have been small in comparison to what is coming in 2019. If you're switching to a "tech company" (I don't believe they are, but for the sake of this discussion let's assume they are) you need different talent than what you need for a copier/printing company. So I think there will be significant cuts in 2019.
February after financials are complete for 2018.
One thing is certain. There will be layoffs. Who knows and who cares when. Take the blinders off. You are working for a company whose fate has been determined. Shame on you if you think otherwise. Get off your A$$ and start looking to create your new beginning. I don’t believe you’re that worried if you’re not looking. Company is in a death spiral and you’re worried about layoffs. Change your future, make a decision, move on and stop worrying about layoffs.
We know that there is some strategy announcement in February. I'd be surprised to see any significant layoffs before then.
There have been layoffs in August, September, October, November, and December. My guess is they won't stop in January.
I think it's just fearmongering...
