Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Doomed

Verizon is a failing company. It will be a long slow painful decline. It's amusing to see the dead wood left behind combing through the job board with dreams of getting promoted into a position of a talented performer that took the package. Verizon now has a high ratio of degreed underperformers, and milenial slackers. Doomed to failure. Political correctness and corporate greed killed Verizon.

in our market "talented performer that took the package. " were not the ones taking the package

Most of the people gone won't even be noticed in the slightest

Truth is no one knows what the future holds, especially in a fast changing business. Companies have to make bets based on what they think future trends will be. Some pay off, like Verizon's entering the wireless world years ago, some don't, like the billions written off on the Oath debacle. Disliking a company for whatever reason doesn't mean it's doomed anymore than it means it will be successful.

They might have some c-appy leadership, but they aren't "doomed". They've stuffed my 401k well over the last 30 years and I hope they can continue to pay the dividends that they do. They'll still be a profitable company long after you and I are dead and buried. And I hope today's young people can have the kind of career that I enjoyed while working here. Doubtful, but hopeful.

VZW is another word for Sears, and we know what happened to them today... It's a matter of time...5g should do them in.

I am sure all companies have problems. Overall Verizon is doing ok. It is not a growth company as it once used to be, but has tremendous revenue that it can hopefully leverage for future growth

Please be positive... Regardless of the employees' circumstances in leaving or staying... We all are still vested in Verizon stocks/401k... We still need Vrz to be successful. FO the negative comments!

I'm with you on the combing the job boards thing. I'm staying, but want no sloppy seconds. Gonna ride the old ship until it bounces me off...or if VSP is offered ever again.

On my first day of employment with this company, an old timer said to me "kid, don't make this joint a career...the place is finished" kind of the same way you are putting it today "Doomed"

That was 29 years ago.

It is blatantly obvious you are a disgruntled current or former employee. Get a life
