Thread regarding Sears layoffs

SYW points are the new cryptocurrency

Looks like they are actually included as part of the assets to bid for the company. And I thought they had no real value. Time to start mining the internet for syw transactions and make some real money !

sales data isn't that valuable. the vendors already know what was sold and that information is out there. Data that has value connects behaviors and websites and location to map more insights. Eddie only offered $100,000 for SYW in his bid.

Having worked on SYW for years, the data is terribly flawed. Multiple accounts made by sweeps players who give fake answers to questions just to keep playing that make up account profiles. Even legit customers might have multiple accounts with varying degrees of activity because the sign up process and online activation of accounts is convoluted and the systems are ancient and don't communicate with each other. The accuracy of account information is laughable. Who would care to pay for it?

The data does have value. The question is how much value do they have and how many of the accounts are real and not just created by the cashiers to make their quotas.

Not really. These kinds of records are only worth a few cents each on the market.

That the data is an asset is not surprising at all. SYW was Eddie's baby. The data from SYW is worth a lot and he knew it from the start.

Info gathered for shop your way accounts and info on transactions logged when using shop your way can be a very profitable asset. Buy a grill and in early spring and get calls about gourmet meats for your grill delivered to your door.
