50 per store x 500 stores = 25,000, so only half of that 50k would have to be non-store jobs.
There is a large procurement, distribution and fulfillment supply chain that gets products to the stores and then delivers them to members you know. Products don't get magicked from thin air.

A typical store only has 30-50 (if that) and there sure isn’t anyone left in HE anymore. It’s a bogus number.
