Any one else have an issue with NEW mobile associates practically taking over electronics? Did I miss an announcement? We had 4 today! And 1 had the nerve to interrupt me today helping a member with TVs to ask if we had questions about TVs. He didn't realize I'm the TL there..I was a bit irritated to say the least. It wouldn't be such an issue if they knew what they were talking about half the time.

Sounds like someones ego got stepped on. No need to worry much longer your position will be one of the jobs cut this year.
Desk associates complain all the time about calling for an electronics person to answer the phone, help a member, or take care of other issues concerning electronics and no one comes. They say members wait forever, because electronic associates are tied up elsewhere. Managers and team leads use the electronic associates for everything but electronics - breaks at the door, gas station breaks, cart attendants. It's like they are the substitute associates. Someone calls off and their it. And the direct tv people are pushy, almost to the point of being rude.
they get commission, you don't....who cares
As a tech lead you should be in contact with their account manager, let them know their sales team is encroaching on your member service. If you have a half decent account manager they should immediately correct their team
Because they were going to do a pitch for Direct TV. They will say anything to get that sell.
