It's so sad to see the company I've worked at for almost 21 years go down the drain. Block scheduling could be the absolute worst thing H.O. has come up with. The members have noticed a huge change in the club and they don't like it!! They hate self-checkout and they don't like to be forced to use Scan-n-go. The closest Costco to us is an hour away and I will guarantee that their membership base has doubled in the last year. I almost encourage people to go shop there. So sad🙁

The new block schedule is a nightmare. The daytime COS makes sure she has all the coverage and the hell with the evening shift. There is no team in this club, only if you’re in the click. Management likes to pass the buck , because they will not talk to members or take phone calls. Tenure made the difference where you would be on the block. Everyone else got the leftovers, mostly night shifts and less hours and less coverage. Some of the long term associates are leaving because of the block and that’s such a shame..

If you went to full-time on the Block scheduling June 22nd 2019, you need to check your profile and make sure you're salaried managers updated you to full-time!!! Get it checked ASAP it finalizes the end of the pay period after the club manager approves it. We could have had our medical benefits over 30 days ago.

Battle Creek Michigan Sam's club is out of control bad management tries to hold employees over for hours after their shift time to call someone to get them back on track it s—s. The salary managers can stay over that's what they get paid for. Team leaders are lazy in all areas of the store. No cashiers.

with this block scheduling i feel like im working harder than a full time employee but with part time hours , im a cashier and at my store its been ridiculous with the levels and on top of that id have to take care of self checkout since the dude at self checkout works outside as a cart attendant it’s ridiculous how much bouncing around i would do from being on a register to jumping and helping self checkout when we have 2-3 of the machines working to trying to calm down the levels but there’s nobody there to help

Block scheduling does not work it will make a company go under is that what they want they want to weed out the older people and bringing bad help why not keep the good help for a good full-time employees and make the part-time people worked a c-appy hours

Battle Creek Michigan Sam's is a joke managers are lazy make you walk to pickup something off the floor instead of picking it up themselves all about control. Now team leads are getting 18 per hour the don't do enough to get paid 18 anyone can boss someone around and not be productive welcome to our club.

Sam’s club has come up with the perfect birth control. Block scheduling.? Schedule associates so they have no family time. Can’t make babies if you are never home at same time as spouse Good luck with those couple hours on your day off that your spouse happens to be home. Happy to help

I've been at sams club for 5 yrs and still part time because I won't kiss their behinds. My hours of availability are 8am till 11pm. Now with this dumb block scheduling they want me to work 4am to 9am. I have to take my daughter to school in the mornings. I wasn't even told about my hours, I only found out yesterday when I checked the schedule. All of management's favourite people were quickly made full time about 2 weeks ago ,so they're safe. As for part time associates...well let's just say it ain't pretty !!!. The ft associates sit back and watch the pt associates work till they drop. The c.o.s people are just lapdogs...and management couldn't run a bath...let alone a company. Sams club is a complete joke with no ethics or respect for 5 he individual unless you are a lapdog !!!. As for a strike...I say bring it on !!!. The best time would be June 22nd 2019 weekend. Sadly it won't make a sc-ap of difference to the ignorant managers and c.o.s id--ts ,but at least let's go down guns blazing !!!. I have spent 5 yrs of being harassed and treated like a 2nd class citizen. I have notified management and even head office ,and nothing gets done. They don't like people making trouble for their little pathetic click. I am currently looking for another job ,and it's tough ,but I'll do it. I am stronger than all ,and I will survive, and I'm taking as many people down as I can !!!. And for those who are afraid to quit...don't be because if you have filled in your hours of availability and the scum makes you work outside those hours ,then sams club is in breach of contract because as an employer they failed to honour your employment contract. This is classed as a good cause for getting unemployment money if needed. WORD UP !!!

Sh-- storm is hitting Sam’s Club. They are trying to weed out the long time associates, disabled & the older associates! But who shows up when it’s snowing...all of the above! Getting rid of departments, (Photo, Jewelry, T-b-cco) which was a great service to A LOT of members. Took away the early shopping hours for the business members. Replacing brand name items for their c-appy Members Mark brand. I have NEVER worked for such a greedy, inconsiderate company! I wish they had their credits cards & upgrades up their a--! Their associates make their money for them. Where would they be without all of us...up a sh-- creek. They are fooling themselves if they think this won’t trickle down & affect their membership! I’ve already had numerous members say they will cancel their memberships! I’m looking for another job, then I’m out of here. This won’t make a damn bit of difference to them because THEY DON’T GIVE A Sh-- about their associates OR their members. When I’m gone, they can keep their membership...Costco here I come (actually I already have a membership at Costco). Costco is soooooo far above Sam’s!

What is the easiest way to do a lay-off without the publicity? Just ask Sams club/Walmart. Just schedule people the hours that are least convenient for them and they will leave.

Let’s see. Since I started at Sam’s about 18 years ago, they have cut out holiday bonuses, stopped time and a half pay for Sunday’s, stopped the whole extra dollar an hour for Sunday workers, changed how sick pay works (and are holding the sick pay and personal time that was earned up to that point, we can’t even touch it, we figure they will make out on that when we leave it die), now block scheduling, it work great. You have to have open availability to make sure you get your 40 hours and c-appy medical insurance. It doesn’t matter to them what your responsibilities are at home, child care, elder care, 2nd jobs. They don’t care if you stay or leave (pretty much take your schedule or leave). Of course, there are favorites who get the schedule they prefer.

Block scheduling is stupid, seniority gets first pick they say, b---s---, even some part timers over some full timers that may have been there the same amount of time or barely even longer get first crack at an early shift; how the hell is that possible . We have someone at my club who is older than dirt only does floral has been there for over 13 years doing pretty much the same thing, if that is the only thing you do how do you even get first crack at anything even if they say seniority matters. They were supposed to talk to me about it they never did and the schedule that they say was out a week ago, I could not even view mine until Saturday morning the 1st, I have a second job and if given proper notification about the block schedule I could have arranged something but they let me know about it one week prior to it kicking in. I told management that I might not be able to do the schedule because just working at sams I won’t make enough to cover my bills, sams won’t pay me or anybody that much really.

Part timers get better days and hours. If you are stuck on closing shift, you work til 9:30 even on sunday’s and holidays when store closes at 6pm. Only happy associates are the few that got early shifts, didn’t matter what shift you preferred or what shift you were hired to work when hired. If you want your 40 hours, you work the shift you are given

Other than our pr-scrip-ions, I will not spend another cent at Sam's Club or Walmart after they didn't even come close to honoring days off/shift requested. I understand you can't please everyone, but there are only 4 people in the Dept. and no one got what they asked for. WTF? Why bother meeting with everyone if you have no intent of even trying. 15 years loyalty doesn't mean a damn thing.

I’m ft at Sams Club and had seniority as a baker, but didn’t get the days off I chose. One of those days was a weekend day, they only day my spouse has off. I found out today I couldn’t get my days, my spouse is livid! This is going to put a strain on my marriage. Meanwhile no part-timers work on the weekends in my bakery! What the hell! I’d go back to flexible shifts just to have a day to share with my spouse. 11yrs of loyalty, just to get c-apped on! Sams Club is starting to be my home wrecker and seriously breaking families apart!

This new block scheduling is sh--! I was passed up as full time only lacking 2 more weeks working more than 34 hours a week!! I don’t think it’s a coincidence!! I work my a-- off while other full time people in my department get away with doing as little as possible!!! I was two other clubs prior to my current location and was full time at both!! So coded as part time guess I won’t have a job come June!! I definitely won’t be able to justify commuting 45 minutes for only 24 hours a week!! So currently searching for another job!! Feeling really bad about full time coworkers never having a weekly off!!! But I’m sure all the managers will still get some weekends off along with their 40 paid vacation weeks a year!! Never worked for a company that every month my manager is on vacation again for a week!!! Now I know why we all had to hurry and get that “Protect your signature CBL done so quickly a few months ago!!” That just turned out to be about Unions and why we should avoid them!!! Had to get all associates to sign off in that right away before they rolled out the block scheduling!!! Well f--- them!!! It’s time for a union!!! They want all the Sams operating with only about 45 to 50 employees!! Which means you not only will everyone have to work their designated department but all other departments too!!! Eliminating positions, doing away with t-b-cco and jewelry and increased work load for everyone, no weekends off for associates and still yet no word of any kind of pay increase!!! If we had already been Unionized this wouldn’t be happening!!! They think they can do whatever they want to their associates!! I SAY b---s---!!! LETS UNIONIZE AND STRIKE NOW!!!

To the person that was asking about the managers at the test Clubs in Cali... they are partly to blame. I work at a Cali club and I know for a fact these club managers out here all kiss a-- and tell these market people how great the block scheduling works and how all the associates love it! It’s BS! Everyone I know has hated it! But they’d rather kiss a-- than tell the truth. It’s doesnt work. We all have two options guys deal with it and ride the change OR look for a new job. I like the comment about let’s all pick a day and strike though.

Make sure if you are doing an audit after close to wait 2 hours for the POS system to update or you will be completely off on hands from a busy weekend day. Reason why audits are done in the AM before sales start.

To the produce lead that was saying about doing the audits Sunday night after we close at 6pm. This is the best time of the week to do them, stock levels are at their lowest after a big weekend of sales, so doing an accurate audit will be much easier. #SmartChanges

Sam Walton was a family man. The people who are running the company need to read Sam Waltons book " Made In America ". I love my job and love this company, but this block scheduling is going to hurt families. Two parent families, single parent families,..... Families with children with special needs, children taking care of aging parents. The days of taking care of the associates that take care of the businesses are gone!!! CBWA......who remembers what that was??? It's a sad day when the company puts the almighty dollar before a human . I understand companies need to change with the times and need to stay competitive, but do they need to change their core beliefs? Mr. Sam was all for change, he understood you have to change in order to be successful , but how many associates do you take out in the process . READ HIS BOOK!!!!!!

Our club was given block scheduling which we have been doing. Now out of the blue they are changing our days off after we have adjusted our lives around it the first time?

Sam Walton would be disappointed with how things are going. Respect for the individual... Gone family orientated.... Gone
