Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Correct. Performance and how long one was with Lowe's doesn't matter in the least. Lowe's dishonest corporate heads don't care about that. For years they filled us with BS about how important we are to the company, and just last year told us to our faces that our jobs were secure, and we found out how untrue that was on on Friday. Ironically, not long after our "appreciation dinner". Lowe's doesn't appreciate anybody. It's all BS.

Home Depot appears to have realized their mistake in eliminating LP. It looks like perhaps they are rebuilding their LP department. I intend to find out. If it pans out, Lowe's can take their severance pay and the non-competition clause and shove 'em. At the very least, I'll never set foot in another Lowe's for the rest of my life. There are plenty of alternatives.

My husband is an LPSM that has gone over and above being a market mentor, worked other stores that were without an LP until they filled the vacant position and made his inventory 2 years in a row as a rookie LPSM. Now his job is cut, and one of his mentees who has been in the position for less than 6 months gets to keep their job because they are in a level 5 store. My husband was told there would be no option for changing stores within the market so the 3 level 5 stores in his market all have new LPSM’s with 2-6 months in the position and they will keep their jobs. The rest are seasoned and all but 2 are being cut. So in the end performance did not matter as far as who is kept on other than the 2 selected for the area positions.

Unemployment

Bloodbath.

Eliminated all store LPSM positions from level 1-4. Level 5 and 6 get a full time Asset Protection and Safety Manager. Along with that a new positions were created “Sr. Asset Protection, Operations, and Safety Manager.” It’s a salaried position that gets a company laptop and phone etc etc. that position covers 3-6 stores.
