I heard there will be a “member needs assistance “ button installed at the jewelry counter...anybody know what that means? Please no sarcasm or unwanted snide comments.

Would you buy a $4000.00 ring from a unknowable associate? Would you?
Yes some clubs got away with jewelry island and just have a counter like Costco and have a bell/buzzer that's by membership or door greeters who walkies the center/jewelry associate who folds clothes that the member needs assistance
Just as tire department, we don't need team lead in jewelry. However, I can tell you that we need a team lead in softlines. Lack of training here and nobody on same page to know how to properly fold clothes, how to stock out by color sequence, work sales report, and how to do audits. Hardlines team lead has no idea about audits or all the shrink in this area. If you had a team lead these people could have a go to person and could all work together and know what expectations are required from everyone. Especially all prep needed for inventory, which is very tidious and requires everyones help.
We've not had a TL in jewelry for two or three years now. I couldn't even tell you if we have someone technically assigned to jewelry, because the lady who takes care of clothing does jewelry when she's there. When she's not, members come to the desk and we call a COS, who takes care of them. Using vertical display cases with locked little cubicles located up at the front of the store and using pull tickets would more sense. The cases would take up a lot less room. I'd insert a pic of what one of those display cases look like, but not able to do that here.
If associates were actually (and properly) trained then the floor associates could do it. Probably should be doing it.
We have had that at Walmart for a year or two. Customer Service, Paint Counter, Fabrics, Sporting Goods. It goes off on the walkies with "Customer Assistance needed in Sporting Goods. Even different counters have them like ammo case, stereo case, etc.
Uncalled for. Douche bag....
Please count this as snide also.
A member pushed a button and magically a super friendly Sams Club associate appears and takes super awesome care of them. They will even call them by name, talk about renewing and plus and credit and extended service plans and everything! Who would've thought it doesnt actually take a full time associate to stand inside a 20×10 box all day.
There has been no Jewelry TL in our Club for over 2 years
Jewelry lead is one of the positions rumored to be getting the axe.
I suppose it means that Sam is going to do without full time staff at the Jewelry Counter.
Please count this as a wanted snide comment as opposed to an unwanted snide comment.
Thank you.
