Oracle buys Talari Networks

Another technology to paste to the paper mache stack? Or good solid acquisition?

Employees of this company (like others that are acquired) should start looking for a new job before the layoff notices come.

The acquired orgs. by Oracle go under same process - Soak, wash, rinse, flush.. as seen with Siebel, PeopleSoft, Sun so on.

Being one who was on the receiving end of an acquisition, Oracle doesn't integrate, they absorb.

Seriously, do you think SC & the BOD run around asking engineers who they should acquire? It's not about technology - it's about market share, IP and kidnapping the customers. Have you seen how Oracle "integrates" an acquisition?

Integrate well, really? Which oracle acquisitions have ever integrated with anything else at oracle? nothing, ever!

Keeps Oracle in the news, I guess.

I always wonder about how Oracle decides on its acquisitions. Is the decision just made at the top? Or are there technical people involved in looking at the other company's technology and looking to see if it would integrate well at Oracle?

Putting lipstick on a pig. And that’s the best case scenario.
